Vehicle Detail
Thank you for looking at my 1984 Honda Goldwing 1200 Aspencade. The bike is in very very good and original condition and ready to go - Just in time for Summer!! I just had it inspected and it passed (VA has a pretty extensive inspection procedure). The paint is in good condition although it has faded a bit. There are also a few spot of rust in a few places although can be cleaned. The chrome is in good condition and is all there. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to own and ride a Goldwing - this is IT. A few specifics about the bike: It has new timing beltsIt has new water hoses with new anti-freezeFuel lines and filter are newFrame is solid with no issues and no rust (which is an issue with the 1200's)The stator/charging system is working (also an issue with the 1200's)It has a Corbin seat - which has a small tear around the label (which can be fixed)It has Markland floor boards which replace the original pegsIt has good tires - about 7/8 of the tread leftOil and filter are new.The gear shifter oil seal has been replaced (these tend to go bad and are a pain)It has new exhaust gaskets with a good exhaust system (again, tend to go bad).It has been tuned up (new plugs and the carbs cleaned, adjusted and are balanced)The radio works and it also has a CB - I have not tested the CB.I have a cover for the bike which conveys. The air compressor on the bike does not work - I suspect the switch although have not spent any time trouble shooting it. The miles (48,264) are original. The original owner loved and took care of this bike. The previous owner rode it a little bit for a few years when he first bought it... and then did not know how to clean the carbs - and it has sat for the last few years. The motor is very solid and runs well. No oil drips. Occasionally it has a tapping on the left side although I think this is because it has not really been ridden for about fiver years and one of the hydraulic lifters is a little lazy (should correct with more riding). The KBB blue book retail on it is $ 2750. In the spirit of transparency I have my reserve set at $ 2,000 and the "buy it now" set at $ 2,100. I have the price set below retail because while the bike is in very good condition it is not perfect (as noted above) - and, frankly, I need the space in my garage. If you are looking for a good "intro bike" for riding or touring - this is it. I also have it for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. Also, I travel a bit and will need to coordinate pickup with the winning bidder. If you have questions please ask. If you win the bidding consider it yours.
