Vehicle Detail

The value of these cars is going up up up.. Hagarty values the 78 Trans am in #2 condition near $30k and rising. This car is RARE to find in this condition! They're either rust buckets, perfect, or perfect restoration cars! The only things wrong with the car, are a cracked windshield, Flat spot on tires due to its inactivity before the rebuild, possible wheel balance, Rust around the weatherstripping, weatherstripping, and the RPM gauge. Engine: MATCHING NUMBERS Pontiac 400 X7 engine with the appropriate GM Corporate Blue paint. We had the engine overhauled and rebuilt at our local machine shop where they installed it into the car. Rebuilt bored .030 over crank has been turned, new "original" style flat tappet cam. The same original 6X heads port and polished. These heads produced the most horsepower for that year. POSI Traction rearend. Transmission: MATCHING NUMBERS TH400 Automatic Transmission, no skips, no jumping, smooth shifting tranny. Interior: The interior on this bad boy is AMAZING! All it's missing is a headliner and a slight crack in the shifter panel. I have way more pictures than provided to show off the beauty of the inside. If you would like more views please contact me! It has been sheltered all its life so there is no cracks and no fade It still has its ORIGINAL Paint code 50 Solar Gold Paint (Will need a new coat). Brand New Tires! Ready to be burnt off! Under The Hood: Brand new Aluminum Radiator, belts, alt, rebuilt carb, starter. Everything but the engine and master cylinder are new. The EGR valve (emissions) was taken off the intake to increase horsepower. AC may work. The rust around the passenger door mirror is the worst spot on the whole car! Not to bad for the year, it will need a door skin which is only $100! Not bad!. Trying to keep it all original. The original radio also WORKS! The odometer reads 92,490 but we've only put 20 miles on the car since its return to the road. --The 400/403 options remained available until 1979, when the 400 CID engines were only available in the 4-speed transmission Trans Ams and Formulas (the engines had actually been from 1978, when PMD had cut production of the engine). The WS6/W72 combination quickly established the 1978 Trans Am as the "King of the Hill", long before there was such a thing a a Corvette ZR-1. Magazines loved the car and the Spring 1978 issue of Road Test magazine squared off a Z28, a Corvette, and a Trans Am in a street fight. The T/A was clearly chosen as the easiest car to drive fast. As a result of the test, it was reported that it took 15.2 seconds to cover the quarter mile, going through the traps at 93.4 mph. It could spring from zero-to-sixty in 7.2 seconds and had a terminal speed of 123 mph, a full 600 rpms over the redline of 5000. In braking, the 3720 pound T/A test car took 149 feet to stop from 60 mph. In a circle, the Trans Am could generate .83g of grip which matched the test Corvette and was well beyond the .76g the Camaro Z28 capable of. Prices for the 1978 Trans Am rose to meet the popularity, jumping $343.00 to $5,799.00 for the base Trans Am. My trans am does not come with a title. Only bill of sale. Option prices took similar increase's, with the Special Edition listing for $1,259.00. New options were sparce, with most of the emphasis being in the direction of performance. After the debut of the movie the Trans Am became wildly popular with sales almost doubling in two years of the film's release, to the delight of General Motors. Reynolds was given the vehicle used during promotion of the film as a gift, though the car itself never actually appeared in the film. In 2014, due to financial difficulties Reynolds put up for auction his vast collection of artwork and memorabilia, including the Trans Am. High estimates for the car was $80K, but that was dwarfed by the actual sales price of $450K. Also up for auction was a go-kart replica of the car, which sold for nearly $14K. Cited: @ 2ga All sales are final. No refunds full or partial. Vehicle is sold "as is" "where is" No warranty written or implied. Vehicle will be available for pick up only once funds have cleared by the bank or paid fully in cash. Please contact me if you have any questions!!!!!!!! THE PERFECT CAR TO TURN INTO A $35,000 SHOW CAR, quite a gem.
