Vehicle Detail
tuddy5 Store 1960 CHEVY BISCAYNE 2-DOOR COUPE This is a solid car for a project, and has never been painted or modified. Everything appears original with the exception of the wheels/tires. It is a radio delete car. The biscayne is fairly dry for the year and has little rust. I will detail the rust that it has below. The engine does turn over but I have never tried to get it running. It has a six cylinder with manual three speed on the column. Included are pics of a few other cool biscaynes. These make awesome pro-tour type cars, and are way cheaper than impalas. They also look nice restored to original, rodded, or as a lowrider/lead sled or retro kustom. This has a clear title. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to do something early on it or have questions. Included are 24 pics of this car. I have many other pics of the undercarriage, etc. that I can send. I've also included some pics in the listing of restored '60 biscaynes/impalas so you can see the potential of this car. thanks and happy bidding. BODY This car is mostly dry but has a couple rust spots in the usual places these get rust. The very low flat part of the rear foot area, have rusted. This is just the low part of the foot tubs. Not up the side, and not on the tranny tunnel. No rust under the seats. Front floor pans are also soft in the same area but fronts aren't as bad. The rears had rusted through and been repaired. The floors are "solid" now enough for a rat rod. The floor rust in this car is minor compared to many you will see. Inner and outer rockers are fine. Both rear wheels have rust behind the wheels only. Wheel lip is fine, wheelhouses are perfect. Trunk pan has minor small rust holes in the very low grooves in the pan. It would be a fairly easy fix or usable as is for a low budget rod. For a nicer resto, you'll need to replace the flat part of the pan. Taillight area and trunk latch are are nice. Trunk lid and where trunk lid sits is nice. Package tray/rear deck, roof, jams, pillars, frame, doors, hood, etc. are nice. Drivers front fender has one spot of rust by the bumper. No other rust on the car. The previous owner spraypainted around in the trunk and behind the rear wheels. The spraypaint is not hiding anything in the trunk and comes off with laquer thinner. No bondo anwhere on the car. I cleaned the spraypaint off the exterior, where the rust is behind wheels. That is why the paint looks like it doesn't match on drivers side. It hasn't been painted, just looks different where I rubbed the oxidation off. Doors, trunk, and hood close as they should. Some light dents to fix but nothing major, and some may pop out easily. MECHANICAL This car has what most likely is the original six cylinder. If your concerned about it being the original engine, I can check the numbers. It turns over but I have not tried to start it because the starter and some plug wires are gone. The transmission shifts into all gears and holds it from rolling. The clutch works. Wheels and tires in the pics are not included. They are off another biscayne of mine. It will come with rollers. I have not tried the brakes. The transmission holds it from rolling. It rolls and steers fine for loading. I'm sure this car has manual brakes and steering. It rolls and steers fine. INTERIOR The interior is original and does not appear to ever have been modified. It's a radio delete car but does come with an original style radio. It needs a full upholstery kit. Gauge ares is in good condition. Seats appear original and have had custom (old style) seat covers/upholstery put on at some point but those are bad also. Springs feel fine. OVERALL This is a great car to start with for your project. It's nice to find one that hasn't had some hillbilly bodywork and primer job, or has been painted multiple times. Thank you.
