Anyone who knows the Mercedes-Benz 300SD turbo diesel knows that this is one of the best cars ever built. I love this car. I asked my wife what she wanted for mother's day and she said get rid of "that" car and give me my garage back. I said sure. I thought that would be soon forgotten. I always forget, but like any wife she never forgets. I will not get any rest around the house unless I get rid of this car. Good luck bidding! This car has been great to me and I hope it will be the same for you. This car spent most of its life in Florida until the law student I purchased it from drove it to Chicago. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts well. Since I have not been using it frequently, there are a few things that are currently not working: the door opening mechanism is broken on the passenger’s door on driver’s side (I have new one but have not put in), driver’s side window doesn’t roll down, the paint on the trunk and the hood is peeling up(see pictures), air conditioning does not work, and there are cracks in woodtrim near the dashboard. Today the trunk would not open. Additionally, there is a spot of rust on the right side roof and two on the drivers side door(see pictures). This car has some small problems that almost any 1984 car will have, but it is otherwise working well and will be sold in ‘as is condition.’ The care has a sound engine, trans and body. It needs a good home and some TLC. I am just storing it at this point and will not get around to its needs. I have set the reserve price very low because I need to get rid of this car and I don’t have the time to fix the little problems before selling. I hope it will go to someone who appreciates what a great car this is and will be for a long time.
