Vehicle Detail
Thank you for looking at my 1983 Honda Goldwing Aspencade. The bike is in very good condition and ready to go - Just in time for Summer!! I just had it inspected and it passed (VA has a pretty extensive inspection procedure). The paint is in okay condition (previous owner let it sit outside it it has some substantial fading on the right side... the the top of the right side bag should be repainted (repaint job gone wrong). If you are looking for an inexpensive way to own and ride a Goldwing - this is IT. A few specifics about the bike: It has a new batteryIt has new timing beltsIt has new water hoses with new anti-freezeFuel lines and filter are newThe brake fluid has been changed along with the front brake shoes (rear shoes still have about 3/4 of pad left)The seat cover is new - the covering on the backrest and sides to the backrest do need a bit of attention. It has a new rear tire. The front tire has about 2/3 of the tread left (I also have a new front tire which can be purchased from me for $ 80.00 in addition to the auction).Rear wheel bearings are new.Oil and filter are new.The gear shifter oil seal has been replaced (these tend to go bad and are a pain)It has new exhaust gaskets with a good exhaust system (again, tend to go bad). The valves have been adjusted and the valve cover gaskets replaced. It has been tuned up (new plugs and the carbs are balanced)The radio works and it has a cassette deck (I have not test the cassette because I no longer have any of them around). The air compressor on the bike does work although the controls for it do not. Probably a good winter project for the new owner The motor also has an occasional oil drip from the front cover. Sometimes it will drip a bit, other times it will sit for weeks and do nothing. Again, probably another good winter project. The KBB blue book retail on it is just over 3K. In the spirit of transparency I have my reserve set at $ 1,500 and the "buy it now" set at $ 1,600. I have the price set way below retail because while the bike is in very good condition it is not perfect (as noted above) - and, frankly, I need the space in my garage. If you are looking for a good "intro bike" for riding or touring - this is it. I also have it for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. Also, I travel a bit and will need to coordinate pickup with the winning bidder. If you have questions please ask. If you win the bidding consider it yours.
