Vehicle Detail

Up for sale this week is a very unusual 1965 Mustang coupe. This is a factory test car from Ford. What makes it a test car? The VIN stamped on both aprons is 5T07C500000. Very odd. Next, there are "V"'s stamped at each end of that VIN. That indicates that Ford voided that number and assigned the number we now have of 5T07C160123 which is stamped on the left shock tower. There is no way to determine what type of tests this car was used for. All these facts have been documented and approved by a NC DMV inspector. I have a clear transferable NC title. This car was originally sold in Virginia to an employee of a Ford dealership. It is nicely equipped with 289 V-8, 4-speed transmission, Pony interior, woodgrain steering wheel, GT instrumentation, AM radio with optional reverb, and wire wheel covers. When I got the car the transmission was out to be rebuilt. We rebuilt it, turned the flywheel, installed a new clutch and pressure plate. In addition we replaced the entire fuel system, and entire brake system. The car runs well, and the charging system works. It needs a complete restoration, but with it's history, it is definitely worth the effort. All of the mentioned options match up to the original door tag. The car has typical Mustang rust in the lower areas, but someone in the past had replaced the floorpans and it is a decent job. This is a car that can be driven while other work is being done to it. No covered hidden surprises here. You can see everything it needs. Please don't think this car only needs paint and a set of seat covers, there is more work than that involved in a correct restoration. It will need some rust repairs made underneath. This car is sold as is. If you personally come to get the car and are not happy with it, no problem, you don't have to take it. However, if you send someone for the car without looking at it first, it is a done deal. I need payment within two weeks of auction's end. I have transport companies I can recommend if you need one. Thanks for looking at this unique Mustang.
