Vehicle Detail
1993 Mustang Cobra SVT #2296 Purchased from the original owner June of 2014. Car has 203,500 miles and is unrestored. Original Ford factory paint except for the "Cobra" grill insert and a small portion of the drivers side ground effects due to peeling in the mid 90's. Original Owner installed Ford Motorsport ceramic coated shorty headers, Ford Motorsport blue on blue hose kit, Pro 5.0 shifter and removed the air intake silencer in the Spring of 1995. Car retains all original order, production, new car sale and post-sale documentation. Some examples of this are the original window sticker, factory invoice, original build sheet, warranty card, metal key tags, SVT owners certificate with original envelope, racing school pamphlet, bill of sale and the DORA. I believe the Mustang Club of America (MCA) awards bonus points for these items when it is shown in the unrestored class. The original paint has been compounded with Meguiars #105 and #205, polished with Meguiars #7, clayed and finished with multiple coats of Meguiars #26 yellow wax. The results of all this is a "near new car shine". I replaced the door and roof moldings with NOS Ford. The hood and front bumper cover shine nicely, but numerous rock chips are present. Not a single touch up is present. This is a rust free vehicle. All seams are original, untouched and as new. All original VIN tags remain on car. The headlights and taillights are original to the car. They have been polished and look near new. The windshield on the car is new in the last 2,000 miles. All other glass is OEM Carlite including the quarter windows. The quarter window moldings look great and are not weathered The interior shows in amazing condition. The factory issue opal leather interior has been scrubbed, cleaned and conditioned. It looks great. The original headliner board was recovered with new old stock (NOS) material. TMI opal map pockets were installed on the original door panels. Both power seat motors were replaced with new motors. The OEM radio has an almost undetectable IPOD jack. All the dash lights work. The power windows, power door locks and power mirrors all work. The sunvisor light does not come on and has material separation on the mirror cover. The hatch cargo cover is present and works great. The ashtray look new and the ashtray door works and looks 100%. The carpet is the factory original carpet. It has no fade. It has been cleaned and looks close to new. The car comes with a seat of ACC opal "Cobra" repro floor mats along with the mint original factory issue Cobra mats. The rear seat looks nice. There is a small area where a car seat left a mark on the rear seat bottom. The original spare, jack, wheel lock key and tire iron are in the clean spare well under the original tire board. The weatherstripping on the car is all original. There are no tears or rips in any of it. The doors and hatch all open and close with ease. The rear end looks great cosmetically. Internally it has been rebuilt with a 3.73 rear gear with new bearings and the GT500 carbon clutches. This work was all done by CJ Pony Parts. A new Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft was installed. The T5 transmission is original and has always had synthetic fluid. It has never been rebuilt and does not need to be. The clutch is the original clutch. Still performs great. The suspension consists of the OEM springs, with F3ZZ NOS Cobra front struts, NOS tie rods inner and outer and a fresh alignment. The rear suspension has new Bilstein quad shocks and Motorcraft NOS shocks. The car rides like new. The driver side wheels are NOS. The passenger side wheels look great with minimal signs of usage. They have been detailed off the car and are clean and shiny front and back, including the inner barrels. The car rides on new BFG Comp Sport 2 245/45/17 all aroumd. The wheels and tires are finished off with the correct gray dill factory valve stem caps. The exhaust consists of FMS ceramic coated headers, new off road h pipe, new 2 chamber mufflers into 2.5" tailpipes. The exhaust is all welded together, no clamps. All exhaust hangers are OEM. The original owner used GT tailpipes and installed LX style tips as the GT tailpipes had the correct, longer hangers to clear the rear bumper. The tailpipes have been cleaned and hand polished and look new. The exhaust sounds perfect. The engine has never been rebuilt and has been subjected to a maintenance schedule that was methodical, designed, executed and documented by a detail-oriented original owner. I believe every gas fill up is documented in the hand written maintenance journal. All synthetic fluids from the first oil change at less than 800 miles to the most recent about 300 miles ago. Always and only Mobil 1. The T5 transmission and rear also had fluids changed out on a regular basis. I have the hand-written maintenance log that the original owner gave me. I also have the receipts for everything ever done to the car from a regular maintenance standpoint. Still has the "1993" dated wires on the car. Original battery cables. Valve covers have never been off the car. Original "Cobra" intake plate. New oil pressure sending unit. A/C has not been converted and blows cold. NOS Motorcraft belt installed. OEM Belt goes with car. New Motorcraft battery. The engine is very clean and pride of ownership is evident when you pop the hood. This is a stunning and unique car. It does not have a sunroof. It has never been undercoated. It has never had mud flaps installed. It has never had a front plate bracket installed. Please feel free to contact me at 301-717-2663. My name is Tom. Please feel free to check the car out on the showfield next weekend at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA. Thanks for reading.
