1981 Porsche 930 Turbo Restoration Project - I have a dropbox with many more photos I can send a link Euro Car, Non-Sunroof, Oak Green Metallic over Tan Leather, Matching Number Car. Can’t be exact on miles speedo was replaced years ago. A Brief History: Car was purchased in 1983 in Germany by a local attorney in Savannah, He was a Jag Officer in the US Army stationed in Germany. He and his wife both purchased Porsches to use while in Germany and brought both of them back to the US. As a young college student I worked for a local European repair shop that serviced and maintained this car. The car was repainted Dark Grey with Gold BBS wheels and European ride height. It was truly a fabulous car. Fast Forward to 2011 and I discover the car in the back of a local body shop in rather sad shape as the car had been sitting for nearly 13years. He had hit a curb and damaged the left front wheel. I knew who owned the car and immediately got him on the phone. Now retired and running a bed and breakfast in Savannah we discussed would should become of his once prized 930. Eventually we both decided that I would make better use of the car than he and I purchased the car from him. My plans were to perform a full restoration on the car. I have done this many times for myself and others. I am much older now and the realities of life, family and business have me convinced that this is a now a farfetched plan. This is why I am offering the car for sale. Engine: Engine has had a rebuild/refresh. All standard bearings, Rings, etc. Turbo rebuilt to stock specs by Tim’s Turbos with new wheels, All CIS components rebuild by CIS Flow Tech, Injectors Cleaned and tested by Testmasters in Savannah, Head Work with all new valves by Savannah Race Engineering (Ted Wenz). Extensive cleaning and restoration of all other components. Motor has not been run yet. Transmission: Have all seals etc. – It should be fine as car was driving when parked. Body: Car has been stripped of all paint and initial primers have been applied – Paint code on door jamb is for Oak Green Metallic. Body is in Excellent Shape – The main reason I started this project. No Rust to Fix At All. To assist in shipping I will install motor and trans. If needed glass can be reinstalled as well. I have all parts in plastic storage bins and the car is complete parts wise. I have acquired many new parts and some used that were in very good to excellent shape.
