Vehicle Detail
1995 Volvo 850 T-5R Vin: YV1LS5811S2238233 Color: Cream Yellow (185 Cream Yellow T-5R's imported to the U.S.)Model History: The 1995 850 T-5R was a very limited production, single-year model following Volvo's entrance into the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). The model resulted from a collaboration between Volvo, Porsche's Weissach Design Center, and Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR). Porsche's Weissach engineers modified the production T-5R's drive train and B5234T5 engine, fitting it with a new, Porsche-tuned Bosch 628 ECU. This increased peak power output to 240bhp with 221 foot pounds of torque for the year. 0 – 60 could now be reached in under 7 seconds, and the top speed was electronically limited to 155mph. The car's aerodynamics were revised with a new front bumper and integrated lip, side skirts, and a trunk spoiler. This lowered the coefficient of drag to .29 and improved high speed stability. Aerodynamic advantage was the most commonly cited reason for Volvo entering a station wagon for the 1994 BTCC season, and it is widely believed that the T-5R's aero-rework was to address this for it's entry in 1995. The T-5R's suspension received larger anti-sway bars, uprated springs and re-tuned dampers, and was fitted with the bespoke, BTCC inspired 17X7” Titan wheels, only offered on this model. Standard Equipment: sport suspension with larger stabilizer bars and heavy duty hydraulic shock absorbers 17-inch Titan wheels front bumper with lip, side skirts and rear spoiler charcoal leather / Alcantara upholstery and steering wheel burled black walnut trim Standard Safety Features: Antilock-Braking System (ABS) Traction Control Systems (TRACS) multi-select driving modes, (Sport, Economy, and Winter) 4 airbags (driver, passenger and SIPS sidebags) 3-point seat belts for all 5 seating positions child booster seat Standard Power Equipment: cruise control trip computer electric power windows and heated power mirrors Volvo SC-811 double-din radio with tapeThis car has the Factory Optional Alpine 6-Disc Changer * Volvo Guard alarm with remote control and power door locks front fog lights electronic climate control (ECC) with dual front zones heated seats adjustable power seats with memory for 3 settings electric sunroof Transmission: Auto Under Warranty?: NO How Many Cylinders: 5 Additional Equipment / Accessories: Includes Volvo OEM 850 T-5R specific carpet floor mats, California Car Cover dual color Superweave cover ($400+ paid), Colgan Custom 850 T-5R Bra - purchased from IPD-USA Maintenance History: Since purchasing the car in 2000, all major services have been performed by either The V-Shop or RSI here in Portland, OR. As you can see in the photos, there appears to be minor parking curb/apron damage to the front air dam that was repaired before we owned the car. As I described earlier, the front fenders were re-sprayed in 2-stage paint when the car was keyed, and the hood was clear-coated to color match it. (You can see clear over old rock damage on the hood). The single-stage paint on the hood was in good condition before the clear coat was applied. Body panel gaps appear very good for a car of it's era. As I may have mentioned before, there was still Cosmoline on the entire engine compartment including both inner/outer fender channels at the time we bought the car, which leads me to believe they are original, undamaged. The car has never had alignment or driveability issues. The car includes 1 working fob, 2 regular keys, and I believe a valet key (need to check file). Yes, I have a clean title. All pictures are less than 2 weeks old. Hope it helps and happy bidding, - 503poidogs
