Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 For Sale: 1974 Triumph TR-6 convertible Specifications 81k original miles 2498cc (2.5L) inline 6 engine 4 speed manual transmission (w/ factory electronic overdrive) Maple Brown exterior w/ tan interior Factory Soft top AND Hardtop Unique features Upgraded to (3) Two barrel Weber DCOE side draft carburetors (Worth $3000 alone!) Rust and dent-free body. This vehicle has spent its existence in a low humidity, high altitude desert climate. Rare factory option – Electronic overdrive Rare factory option - combination hard top and soft top Additional features OEM spec Michelin X redline tires Factory chrome trunk luggage rack option Tonneau cover Description This vehicle has been in the family for 35 years, but spent most of them tucked in the garage under a car cover. It's an excellent running vehicle and absolute blast to drive. The engine is in good condition. It is all original, not rebuilt, with matching numbers. The transmission shifts smoothly with a crisp clutch feel, and the overdrive unit works flawlessly. The sale comes with all owner, service and workshop manuals. Service records are contained within them. All accumulated spare and miscellaneous parts will be included with sale, too. In the last 24 months, the soft top has been replaced with a Robbins OEM quality top. The seats have been reupholstered. The wood grain dash has been re finished, with new crash pads installed. The vehicle has been repainted the factory paint code with OEM quality paint. The clutch master and slave cylinder have been replaced. A new battery was installed 6 months ago. Also recently replaced/repaired: the interior upholstery and floor mats. The rear differential has been rebuilt with a new ring and pinion gearset, bearings and seals. Issues This vehicle is in superb condition given its age and somewhat temperamental Lucas Electronics reputation. That said, it does come with a few idiosyncrasies and minor issues. -Mechanical: The engine runs hot in traffic or city driving. If you intend to use it significantly in this manner, installing an electric radiator fan is advisable (electric fan and wiring kit is included with purchase, just never installed). Driver's side rear axle CV joint wearing out and should be rebuilt soon Hardtop headliner – needs replacement Heater pull knob not connected -Electrical anomalies: Dash illumination rheostat does not work correctly Hazard Flasher dashboard light doesn’t work correctly Windshield wiper system blows fuse on high speed Fuel gauge reads 1/4 tank more than what is actually present. Fill it up when it reads 1/4 tank, because it'll be empty! Important to note: this Triumph’s carburetors have been tuned for a high altitude (4500ft), and may need additional tuning to run smoothly at your altitude. Included in the sale are a couple assorted jets, and the Hayne’s Weber Carburetor service manual. We have historically sent this work to the pro’s in town, since tuning these correctly at home can be pretty tricky.
