Beautifully restored 1965 Pontiac GTO with numbers matching engine and PHS docs! This is a real GTO, certified by the Pontiac Historical Society. One of only 8319 Coupes Built!! Rarest of all the GTO's built in 1965! Professionally refinished in its code correct Montereo Red over Red Vinyl interior. The numbers matching 389Ci V8 engine with 4bbl carburetor and M20 4-speed manual transmission. The dates and codes on the engine and transmission are correct for the car. Several Pontiac experts have looked at the car while it was being restored and all agreed it is number matching and correct! The axle is the 3.23 rear end. Engine Cast #9778789. Engine Stamp WT. Transmission cast #3885010. Well equipped from the factory with power steering, power brakes, AM Radio, windshield washer with dual speed wipers, dual exhaust, rally gauge cluster with tachometer, back up lamps, soft ray glass, outside mirrors, instrument panel pad. Other notable items are; t-3 headlamps, all chrome and trim have been redone, NOS front grills, solid floors and trunk, new weather stripping, new radiator, all new interior, new center link, new brakes, new shocks, new springs, new brake lines, new gas tank, new air cleaner, new air filter, new valve covers, new gaskets, mild comp cam, new mufflers, new chrome Unigue wheels wrapped in new 225/60R15 Uniroyal Tiger Paws tires, new trunk mat and spare tire cover, new sway bar links, just changed the oil and filter, and the list goes on! Car comes with all the restoration pictures and receipts I have, over an inch thick stack! Also comes with PHS Documents! Everything on the cars works except the resistor in the Am radio is bad and the speedo is off by a few mph. Otherwise its a ready to enjoy collector car!! The car was a very original barn find that was obviously stored indoors. Previous owner bought the car and embarked on a full restoration. He had the car professionally stripped to bare metal and repainted in the factory color. NOT a bondo rust bucket! It is an honest solid car with original floors and trunk. He was an older man and he sold me the car at the end of the restoration to fund his other retirement projects. I finished the car and am now ready to move on to my cobra, so it must go to make room.
