1983 Honda CX500 Turbo. Numbers matching bike. Frame and engine is totally original in every detail. This bike is un-restored and is a 32 year old vintage time capsule. It has been kept indoors for it's entire life. Original paint, everything. The bike is in excellent condition. Miles are original at 48,000. There is no rust to speak of on this motorcycle. The frame is very very nice with no pitting or rust and the chrome is second to none in my picky opinion. The paint is original. It has no fading to speak of, I want to say none at all but I don't have an NOS painted part to compare with. The decals are excellent as are the instruments. The tank is dent free as are the steel side covers. Original badges and decals are all still on the bike. The mufflers are rust free as well. The compression is good on each cylinder and the bike fires right up without any trouble or hesitation. I have the clear title to this motorcycle in my possession. Picky stuff and defects: I am going to pick at this bike now to be fair and impartial. But allow me to preface this by noting that this bike overall is the best CX500 Turbo I have seen except for one I know of with 16 miles that never saw the street. With that in mind. Both exhaust shows some age in the finish. The right heat shield which is visible to the rider has been repainted. The heat shields on the right and left of the cylinder heads need to be repainted. The bike has almost no defect in the paint. My pictures show what defects I could find. It is kind of spectacular in appearance especially if you have a weakness for this model. Tires look nice but are old. Some gold is worn off the front rim on the horizontal area. I have the original key and it is nice and includes two copies. This bike has been sitting eleven years so it will need resurrecting like cleaning the brakes and replacing fluid. It would be nice to paint some of the black parts, like the heat shields and kick stands. One little decal on the top of the gas tank is showing age, but the rest of the decals and riveted information plants are in super nice condition. As it stands the only thing touched up on the bike appears to be the heat shield on the right hand exhaust. The seat is nice but it has two separations up by the gas tank (depicted.) The gas tank is great internally and externally but those two prongs that the seat inserts into are missing. The engine runs good and the turbo lights on the dash extend when the engine is revved up. All electronics work and the engine runs and I have started the bike driven it and it sounds and shifts great. The rear brake works but seems sticky and the front brakes are not working. You probably should do a tune up I guess since she has been sitting for years. All the gauges worked as they should as far as I could tell and the bike acted like other turbos I have ridden in the past. Thanks for your interest.
