1967 Mercedes Benz 230SL - Euro Spec - Complete Car for Restoration Description (Be sure to use your browser's inner scroll bar to see the more than 90 photos below) 1967 Mercedes Benz 230SL - Euro Spec Car Color: Signal red(body tag shows color codes 268 Signal Red and 040 Black, I assume the hard top and hub caps were black from the factory)Interior: Black - interior replaced with black vinyl at some point, interior has rear kinder seat.Black soft top This car was owned for many years by a gentleman in Iowa, it was running and driving up until about 4 years ago when he put it in storage. I acquired it from him recently. The engine turns over, starts and runs, but the car does need a fuel pump and good fuel system cleaning, brakes are not currently functioning. This is a European model 230SL with European KM/h speedometer and KM odometer (indicates 24,802 KM), gorgeous European headlights, automatic transmission with power steering and power brakes. It is amazingly complete with both tops, all 4 hub caps, trim rings, original Becker Grand Prix radio with speaker, exterior trim, etc. There are various parts in the trunk that will be included, as is, with the sale. The car was repainted in Sign Red at some point. The paint shows crazing in many areas, there are some chips and cracks in the paint. The glass in the car and hard top is complete. The underside of the car is rusty, especially the rear frame rails, there are detailed photos showing the general condition of the underside and the rusty areas. There are photos of the engine number showing that it is correct 230SL engine, I have no reason to believe this is not the original engine for the car... numbers stamped in the block and on the tag are easily legible.
