For sale by owner/enthusiast is a 1996 BMW 328i convertible with an Alpine White exterior and a black/white interior. The car has 142,311 miles (@7500 miles/year) and a clear/clean title Virginia title, as well as current Virginia emissions and inspection. The car is located in the Tyson's Corner/Vienna, VA area and is being shown by appointment (contact through eBay). This is a great entry-level BMW and a very strong and reliable driver with a smooth shifting automatic transmission. The car also functions well as second/third car and family convertible (which it was to us), and the clean four seat interior and large trunk are really quite versatile. The larger 6 cylinder/2.8L engine (M52) in the 328i makes 190 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque and is much preferred over the smaller engines found in the 318i, 323i and 325i versions of this model class (designated by BMW as "e36"). The interior of the car is its strong point and is well sorted with a newer black/white aftermarket interior, fully functioning air conditioning/heat and a crack-free dash and clean glove box. (The interior is why I purchased the car for my wife two years ago.) As for the exterior, the car has newer all-season tires (less than 5k miles) and clean BMW/OEM wheels. The alpine white paint shows well, with the exception of some peeling clear coat on the hood and trunk, and some small/medium dents on the body. The convertible top works in manual mode and goes up and down in less than 60 seconds. The top has a couple of rough spots, but there is no leakage inside the cabin of the car during heavy rain or during car washes. The front windshield and side door windows are very clean, as is the rear window on the convertible top. Overall, the exterior of the car is in average condition and compares similarly (if not favorably) to other BMW e36 convertibles in this price range. Terms: A non-refundable $500 deposit (Paypal acceptable) is due within 48 hours after the end of the auction. The remaining balance of the purchase price must be paid in cash, cashier's check or bank wire within 7 days after the end of the auction. Title will not be transferred to the purchaser until full payment is received. Local pick-up in the Tyson's Corner, VA area is preferred.
