Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Original Matching Numbers 1965 Impala SS 327 Fastback Original Protect-O-Plate and More! If you looking for a genuine Impala SS that hasn't been molested or modified over the years, this is the one for you! This is a numbers matching 1965 Impala SS 327 in amazing condition with its original Protect-O-Plate, Factory Owner’s Manual, Factory Options Brochure, and Keys. It is a fantastic example of the one-year-only 1965 Impala SS fastback with the triple “rocket” tail lights; the last of the true classic SS’s. You will appreciate the fact that this wonderfully preserved example has had only two documented local owners since new, has been garaged it’s entire life, and is almost 100% original including matching numbers 327 4v engine, Powerglide transmission, and 12-bolt rear end. This Impala is perfect to enjoy as a turnkey survivor, or to take to the next level as a restored show car. It is finished in original Tahitian Turquoise Poly with Ivory interior... beautiful. Purchased new by a very affluent local Portland, OR business owner, it was babied until sold in 1968 to its’ second owner, who loved the car dearly, and drove it sparingly until he had a serious medical problem arise in the early '90's. It has ALWAYS been garaged when not driven. Since 1993, it has remained garaged, un-driven, and started regularly to keep it in proper running condition. It’s a time-capsule car that’s been off the road and preserved for the past 22 years. The original numbers-matching Turbo Fire 327 cubic inch four-barrel V8 engine was completely rebuilt in the 80’s (receipts included), including the heads rebuilt for unleaded fuel, the carburetor and choke rebuilt, new motor mounts, water pump, etc. The car has enjoyed routine and regular maintenance since new, including oil and fluid changes, transmission and rear end services, brake service, suspension “wear” components rebuilt or replaced (springs, tie rod ends, drag link, etc., electrical components such as the alternator, starter, battery, etc. replaced, etc. Full and complete maintenance since new; the car runs and drives just about like new... a real pleasure to cruise in. Vehicle Identification Number Information: 166375L1251xx 1 = Chevrolet 66 = Super Sport Package * 37 =Two Door hardtop or Sports coupe 5 = 1965 L = St Louis, Missouri 1251xx = Vehicle Sequence Number *Please note that this 1965 Impala contains the number 6 in both the second and third positions of the VIN, which documents it as a genuine SS model. Factory original literature that is included with the vehicle are the following: · 1965 Chevrolet Owners Guide (Owner’s Manual) · 1965 Chevrolet Owner Production Plan Booklet, including Protect-O-Plate · 1965 Custom Feature Accessories Booklet This Impala SS retains all its’ original SS options inside and out, including the SS-optioned bucket seats, center console with SS badge and clock, SS door panels, and original steering wheel inside, and Super Sport script, SS grill and tail panel emblems, and SS hubcaps on original steel wheels outside, along with the premium wheel lip, trunk, and hood trim. Standard SS equipment included the 12-bolt rear end, which is original and still present. Additional options include the 327 four-barrel engine backed up by a smooth two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, power brakes, AND power steering, as well as the AM radio, tilt steering wheel column, vacuum gauge, and more. The original trim code 845 Ivory color super Sport interior is beautiful, including perfect white headliner, seat upholstery, and door panels, carpet and interior trim pieces. The dash pad, dash, and carpet are color-keyed to the exterior paint, and are also in fantastic condition. ALL the gauges and lights work, including the optional factory Manifold Vacuum Gauge. The only thing not operating currently is the console clock. This is an amazingly well preserved interior. The chrome, aluminum, and stainless trim are excellent, as is the grill. The glass is very nice throughout (one small rock chip on windshield), and the window regulators all operate smoothly. The original floor pans, rockers, trunk, etc. are perfect, with no rust whatsoever. The trunk features its’ original floor mat, jack, handle, base, and bumper hook, as well as the original spare wheel and matching whitewall tire. The tires on the car are newer radials in the style of the original narrow whitewall tires. The body itself overall is very straight and rust-free. It has a dent in the driver’s quarter panel, and a small dent in the passenger rocker panel, otherwise only minor dings and scratches as expected from a car that was actually enjoyed. It has had one older repaint in the original paint code “L” Tahitian Turquoise Poly (metallic). The paint still retains the majority of its shine; it has failed or been chipped in specific areas (roof lead seam, some areas on the side and door), and there are the most minor of bubbles under the paint in the front lower fender corners and lower rear quarter behind the wheels. Very minor, under paint, no holes. This is the ONLY rust evidenced anywhere on the car; very dry. While the paint is far from perfect, it still shows very well from 15-20 feet away.
