Vehicle Detail
This is a very hard to find E24 / 635csi with 5 speed manual in Cinnabar Red and Pearl Beige interior. Previous owner said odometer stopped working around 119,358 and he drove the car for about another 5000 miles. So mileage is low for a 30 year old car. Thousands of dollars have already been spent on this car. Mods, Upgrades, Replacements: • Sport springs with 1" drop and sport shocks. • Front strut tower bar • New Magnaflow catalytic converter and resonator • Z-3 shifter with ZHP weighted knob • 30lbs injectors • New waterpump and thermostat • New alternator • New brake accumulator • New brake booster servo • New center bearing and guibo • New battery-less CI board • Upgraded oil spray bar bolt * Direct air intake. *Fairly new ignition wires with MSD ignition coil. * Steering box looks brand new. * Has after-market CD player with some kind of sub-woofer installed in trunk. I bought this very hard to find 5 speed manual Cinnabar Red to restore but my focus has changed to another restoration project. So this E24 is up for sale with no reserve. Because the car runs and pulls very strong (as compared to my previous E34 535i), I suspect it must have been chipped although the previous owner did not mention it. For an M30 engine, it idles quite smoothly and does not smoke. It does need cosmetic restoration to bring back its glory. -Exterior: Needs paint. Body has few shallow dents but is all straight and no rust that I can see anywhere. Doors close with distinct BMW tight ping sound on these makes. Front and rear bumpers are in very good condition and hug the car body tightly. The trunk lid has 6 drilled holes because someone had installed some kind of spoiler on top of the trunk before. Front lower spoiler was previously repaired poorly and cracked open again during its shipping to me. Front windshield has a visible star crack. -Interior: Dash is cracked in several places, like with in most of these cars. Both front seats definitely need re-upholstered. I would also do the rear so all seats can look fresh. Carpet can be cleaned up. Interior door panels are decent. Tool box is gone but they often show up for sale on ebay. Other issues: I have not had time to get intimately close to the car but did check on the obvious no-surprises on E24 cars: -driver door lock does not work but, if is in un-locked position, can be opened by lifting handle bar. Both doors and trunk can be locked and unlocked from passenger door or trunk lock. -some position on driver seat do not seem to work. -when I received the car, there is no light on board. When I pulled the car out of the garage to take pictures, the brake light was flickering on. Brake does have good pressure and works good. Reservoir has good level of fluid. The brake master cylinder looks new so it could be just a connection or sensor issue. The car starts right up, pulls and runs very strong, drives straight and idles smooth. Braking is good. Clutch is good. Single exhaust pipe note sounds sporty without being loud. I have tried to describe the car the best I could. While many parts were replaced with new ones, the Buyer should expect this car is mostly a 30 year old which is in need of restoration and more sorting out to be 100%. The car is being sold with no warranty, on as is and where is basis. Buyer is responsible for pick up and transportation and its costs. PLEASE NOTE: the title is in my hand and is a clear title. I have not transferred title ownership over to myself. The car will be sold with the title signed by the previous owner and the Buyer 's section on the title is left blank for the new owner to fill in. The car is a good candidate for restoration and deserves to be restored as it is so hard to find a manual. The car can probably be had for less than the thousands of dollars that were already spent on it. Payment terms: $500 non-refundable to be paid via PAYPAL within 24 hours from end of listing. Cashier of remaining amount to be received within seven(7) days from end of listing. Thank you for bidding and restoring one of the most beautiful BMW car. Good luck in bidding. . On Apr-21-15 at 21:43:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Just read the AutoCheck report included in this listing and noted the followings: -car was from California up to 90K, This explains why it has no zero rust but paint is well faded. It currently has a Georgia title where its previous owner lives. Before Georgia, I believe it was in Tennessee for a year. So it's always been in dry states. -car has zero accident. -based on historical mileage recorded in AutoCheck report, the current mileage on odometer seems legitimate. -car passed emission up to 90K, every year while it was in California. This is sign the car has been maintained. Please note the original cat was replaced with a Magnaflow cat so I am not sure if it will now pass tough emission control in some states. On Apr-22-15 at 16:34:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Added pictures of interior cabin, inside trunk, front nose and rear of car. Today when I pulled put the car, the brake light is gone.
