Please, NO zero feedback bidders unless you contact me prior to bidding. Also, only bid if you are ready and prepared to pay; thank you! Up for sale is my classic old-school hotrod 1957 Chevy. If I had to make my best educated guess, I'd say this was built in the late 70's, with little to nothing changed since then except new chrome... a real time capsule. It has the old style Center Line Autodrag spun aluminum racing wheels, with vintage NOS Super Sport GT N-50-15 tires on the back, Monroe air shocks, Lakewood ladder bars on a Camaro 10-bolt rear end with what I'm going to estimate is 4.56 gearing (4.11 at least; she was built to race), front disc brakes, an early 327 with later big valve hardened seat heads, an Edelbrock aluminum hi-rise intake and 625 CFM carburetor, trunk-mounted battery, MSD 6 distributor and box, Pete Jackson noisy gear drive, a good-sized Isky lumpy hydraulic cam, headers, and new Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, and of course the obligatory 4-speed manual transmission with a good clutch. She's loud, raked, obnoxious, and fast. A genuine, period-correct, nostalgic hot rod, not a recreation! The body is super straight, with no outer body, trunk, or floor rust that I can find. Older black paint job that still shines like mad and has metallic purple flames coming back from the nose (was originally Tropical Turquoise from the factory). New front and rear bumpers, guards, grill, hood rockets, trunk V, etc. Some minor scrape damage was repaired on the passenger side (not dented; light scrape), not a big deal but worthy of disclosure. In the driver's side view and front / rear views the paint job looks great, passenger side you can see the blems if you look for them. Not obvious; the car catches everyone's eye and the blems aren't ever even brought up. There are some very minor rust spots in the wheel wells, where the inner fender meets the outer, inner fender meets rocker area, etc. but they are few, minor, and not exterior, structural, or cosmetic issues. The interior is also just as vintage old-school, with the front bucket and rear bench seats featuring black vinyl surrounds and diamond tuft blue plush cloth inserts. Matching door panels. Glass is very good all around. Gauge cluster looks nice, but is not set up to be usedas the primary gauges; it has a new triple gauge combo mounted under the dash to monitor temperature, oil pressure, and electrical. Lights work, turn signals, etc. work so she's a street-legal driver in day time or night time. This car runs great and drives very well. I would say she drives great, but it's a '57 Chevy with manual steering and manual brakes... fun, but you work a little for it. Tracks straight, brakes straight, no play in the steering. Big front tires rub a touch if you corner fast over bumps; I'd put front runners on her if I kept her. I installed a brand-new radiator, electric cooling fan, and battery. Known issues are a minor oil leak, ignition switch is old and testy (comes with new), tachometer only reads correctly half the time (easily replaced with a new vintage-look Sun Super Tach), the aforementioned factory gauges not working, heater not connected (bad core?), and the minor passenger side paint damage (body is straight other than nicks, scratches, very tiny dings, etc.). I'm being exhaustive here; to look at, ride in, and drive the car, you'd forget it had problem one. It's cool as heck and takes you back in time to a simpler era. You remember cruising, right?! Clear title in hand. Here's a chance to get into a classic right. I've owned three '57s before; my last one was just a little nicer, and it brought $23,500.00. I'm paying it forward with this one, and letting her go with a few fix-it's, but at a price that reflects that and then some. You may call me directly at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have. Please be prepared to remit payment within 3 days of auction's end via major bank cashier's check (must wait for check to physically clear issuing bank prior to releasing vehicle or title), a deposit into my Bank of America account, or a bank-to-bank wire transfer. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I will make myself and the vehicle available to your carrier on short notice. While every effort is being made to describe the car as accurately as possible, it is in fact a 58-year-old classic, and therefore being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. This is a very special nostalgic '57 Chevy hot rod that's sure to put a smile on the next owner's face!
