1969 Triumph Bonneville

Up for auction is my matching numbers ’69 Triumph Bonneville. This bike is not restored but rather, as correct as I can get it. I have always believed an original un-restored machine has much more charisma than one with a frame-up restoration. Most current classic bike shows include “original/un-restored” classes and this bike was a runner up in 2013 to an unridden (but original) ’72 T-140 at our Classic Show in Cincinnati. Criteria usually require that the bike must run. The '69 and '70 Bonnies are considered to be the absolute best classic Triumphs ever built by the Limeys. -the tank paint could be better but it is very close to the ’69 parameters. No dents in tank, oil tank, fenders or side cover - Original Dunlop rims, original Lucas headlight and taillight lenses. -All instruments are correct and work properly. Lights, high/low, oil pressure, brake light etc. functional. Seat has been recovered. The frame has not been painted. -Top end rebuilt 2013. Only club rally miles since then. -The bike starts with one or two tickles and kicks. It idles, and runs strong with original Lucas points, no electronic ignition. -On the other hand . . if you wish . . . here’s a great restoration candidate. Everything is there. With a powder coated frame, a new paint job, some chroming and CAD plating, bead blasting and elbow grease this Bonnie would make this a very competitive show bike without huge monetary output.-The mileage is not accurate as indicated on a good Ohio title.
