Custom Galaxie 500. 1964. 4 door post sedan. Unique and interesting history. This is a one family car, originally from Kansas. It was converted for Squadron duty with the world famous 87 Flying Training Squadron, which was the old 87th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. 352 big block FE. Cruise-a-matic Trans, and 9 inch rear end. Manual brakes and steering. (Non power assist). Fresh from a recent mechanical refurbish by Haynes High Performance, (hayneshighperformance.com). This beauty has the following recent work accomplished: Transmission refresh and all new fluid. Engine gaskets replaced, including both head gaskets. New oil pan, fuel pump, 4 barrel carburetor and water pump. New hoses and belt, plus new freeze plugs. Fresh coolant. Fresh oil and filter. The engine compartment has been freshened up and looks great. Has a brand new custom made aluminum high efficiency radiator, the prone to split filler tank has been welded up. The distributor was completely reworked by Mel's ignition, and a new coil now fires a Petronix electronic ignition. The front brakes have been completely replaced with new components, new rubber brake lines front and rear, and brake flush. The driveshaft was rebalanced and new U joints installed. Freeze plugs replaced, as well as the drive belt. Paint is nice. Bright red with white top. Not perfect. But body is straight. Panel gaps are nice. Inside, the custom interior pays homage to the USAF and the 87 FTS. The windshield is cracked. Aftermarket glass is still available for under $300. All door glass works, ie it goes up and down. Tires are good. Overall mechanicals are in excellent shape. Paint is good, with a few minor blemishes. All custom interior as you can see in the photos.
