This is a 1969 "M" code Mach 1. This Mach 1 was equipped with the 351W 4v option. The 351Ws' light weight and durability combined with today's newest performance options has made the 351W the engine of choice among today's muscle car enthusiast. Used much more now than its Ford Big Block brothers. The 351W power plant in this particular Mach 1, however, is much more than stock. The engine was pulled and delivered to Houston Engine and Balancing for a complete makeover. HE&B have been building engines for over 30 years and have earned a reputation for building some of the most reliable engines in the business. The NHRA and IHRA specialist took their liberty to blue print and balance this incredible engine. You will not find a stronger, more durable engine anywhere. Engine Specs; • 351 bored .040 over • New Aluminum Dart Heads. These heads where taken out of the box and then they were machined and ported to meet the build specs of this engine. • They fitted the cylinders with forged Hyper Flat Pistons • Installed Oil Pan windage tray. • Installed Bullet Roller Rocker Camshaft/ Matching Lifters • New Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. • New Holley 750cfm Avenger Carburetor • JBA shorty headers • Engine assembled inside and out with ARP bolts and fasteners. • Summit HO Mechanical Fuel Pump • New Mallory Unilite Ignition w/ MSD Coil • Dyno @411hp. 425ftlbs @4,500RPM But we did not stop at the flywheel. Behind the 351W we installed a NEW, out of the box, Tremec TKO 5 speed manual transmission with the "Quick Shifter" option. The engine and transmission are connected by a New Centerforce Clutch and a Billet Flywheel (all balanced with the engines crank and pistons). All this HP and torque are transferred to BOTH rear tires by a NEW Detroit Locker 9" rear end 3:55 gear ratio. This option allows you to cruise on the Interstate at just over 2000RPM. Everything is kept super cool by the NEW Griffin Aluminum Radiator. There is no problem driving this car in stop and go traffic even in the middle of the Texas summer. Driving this car is breeze with the power steering option, power assisted brakes with front disc option and the NEW GRAB-A-TRAK front and rear springs. This option stiffens the ride to handle the corners and lowers the car 1" from factory giving it and even greater advantage on a road course. The interior of this car has been kept to its original "DELUXE" interior package. Most of the upholstery has been updated and looks practically brand new. This car was optioned with factory air conditioning but was not reinstalled after the engine build. This would be a perfect candidate for the "Vintage Air" upgrade. The car has been repainted to its original RAVEN BLACK Paint with the red MACH 1 stripes. This color combination is sure to turn every head on cruise night. Everywhere this car is parked, it draws a big crowd. The undercarriage has gone through a recent restoration beginning with the front clip. It was repainted with the original "red oxide" primer and semi-gloss black covers the engine bay. The only portion of the undercarriage left untouched is the floor pans. They are still protected by the original primer and undercoating. Only the passenger floor pan is beginning to show signs of rust. The wheels are the classic Magnum 500s. 15x7 front, 15x8 rear. The BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires are virtually brand new. There is something about the power combination between the engine, tranny and gears that really make this car light up. There seems to be no end to the power and the torque. Just when you think you hit the limit, there is another gear to shift to and more pedal under your feet. This car is the epitome of a racing machine.
