We bought this 97x for our vacation vehicle last year with approx 86,000 miles installed 4 new Toyo SUV performance rated for the SS Trailblazer (the best)tires about 7000 miles ago new strut assemblies, complete upper and lower control arms assemblies, inner & outer tie rod ends FRONT SUSPENSION IS ALL NEW (the best)for a SS Trailblazer etc. w/fresh alignment 4 new drilled and slotted rotors with performance ceramic pads for the SS Trailblazer, the best, calipers cleaned and media blasted & painted VHT Red transmission service w/filter cooling system flush with new 190* thermostat new Taylor 10.4 mm wires, the best new Bosch Iridium sparks plugs, the best new Bosch windshield wiper blades, the best K&N air filter, the best new Goodyear Gatorback serpentine belt, the best and right before winter storage at Thanksgiving a new Chrome & Stainless appearance kit was installed complete clay bar polish and 3 layers of Carnauba wax, all by hand not machine new floor mats & steering wheel cover, factory leather steering wheel is in great shape Mobil 1 service ***the bad*** these early M code LS based motors had crappy lifters with a weak plastic part. NEW STYLE replacement lifters from GM are the fix. this 97x starts right up and runs perfectly but the lifters are going and are loud. I am retired and had a retired GM employee listen to it. "lifters, early M Code...." plain & simple. The motor uses no oil, no smoke, no leaks ! The labor book calls for 14 hours at the local dealer. This is a weekend project for anyone who knows their way around Chevy LS based small blocks. I already have another SUV on the way next summer from another family member this summer. ****READ**** the "BuyItNow" will include 16 (8&8) "new style" GM lifters, GM upper gasket set and a new GM cam, for good measure. The vehicle can be driven on to a trailer. I will not allow it to be driven anywhere, period. Please don't even ask. There is no reason to blow it up. I have no problem starting it up for a listen. The lifters need replaced, before driving. All this is around a $3000 fix at the dealer or just do it yourself. Used M code motors (complete) are everywhere for around $2500. They were used in hundreds of thousands of GM trucks and SUV's. All the windows and power accessories work, tilt, cruise, seats, windows, locks, etc.... These SS AWD suspensions are a blast to drive, the SS gets the 6.0 with 395HP these 5.3 V8 all aluminum motors have 315HP and get a very respectable 26 MPG, the 6.0 gets around 14 mpg. Parts for these are readily available at RockAuto, Summit, Chevy & GMC dealerships, & SAAB USA If this were mine I would drop in a 6.0 just for fun ! How about a LS9 ? go for it ! These are exactly the same as a Trailblazer SS AWD for everything except trim and ignition switch comes with owners manual & key w/fob, I'm looking for the second key, If I can't find it I'll have a key cut for it before it leaves....
