Vehicle Detail

This is a really clean Prius that has been professional converted to a Plug In Hybrid by Boulder Hybrids in Boulder CO. It gives you the benefits of an electric car around town and a Hybid on longer trips. Please read the details carefully. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS please ask them BEFORE bidding. The 10kwh Plug in Hybrid Conversion was done just over a year ago and the conversion itself cost $12,500. The brand new Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack replaced the original Toyota nickel metal hydride pack. The PHEV conversion allows you to drive "around town" in fully electric mode up to 60mph and average 25-40 miles per charge without using ANY gas! After the battery is depleted it performs as a standard hybrid and runs the gasoline engine. You can also drive it in blended mode and and average over 100MPG on most days. (i.e. days you drive less than 80 miles a day). On a long road trip it will get the same MPG as a regular Prius. (average 45mpg) You can charge the car anywhere you can plug in a toaster The charge port is a standard 120V "three prong" inlet and it uses less than 15amp to charge via any standard extension cord. You can also charge using 240V with a simple RV style adaptor cord. You do not need a fancy charging station installed to charge this car. If the battery is empty, it take about 6-8 hours to charge on 120V and 4-5 on 240V. The car will run on gasoline if you forget to plug in it or unable to. With this car there is no such thing as RANGE ANXIETY (unless you don't put gas in the tank). The charge port is on the front bumper drivers side. The rear suspension has heavy duty springs to handle the 225 pounds (approx) of extra weight of the larger battery. The expanded battery pack takes up most of the trunk space "below the carpet" but you still have regular cargo space and the rear seats fold down. The car comes with a spare wheel and jack tools etc. but you'll have to carry the spare wheel above the carpet. The battery pack has a shatterproof clear polycarbonate cover should you want to show it off. In most parts of the country electricity costs around $1/gallon equivalent. Not a great savings right now with $2/gal gas but we all know gas won't stay low forever. If your commute is modest you could go months without buying gasoline. One owner with this model of conversion made it 4000 miles last summer on a single tank of gas using the car for his daily commute and plugging it in each night. Most people will get between 900 and 1200 miles per 10 gallon tank of gas with the system. The car itself is exceptionally clean and has never been in an accident. 144k miles is not a lot for a Prius, many Prius taxis have gone 400-500k miles. The car has tinted windows to keep out the summer heat and increase privacy. Car has 2 Smartkeys, 6 CD changer, Cruise Control, touchscreen, back up camera etc.The car has decent snow tires installed and front wheel drive. We can help with shipping the car domestically or if you choose to fly into Denver we'll meet you at the airport and you can drive home. Denver is a major airport for Southwest, United, and Frontier.
