RELISTED DUE TO A FRAUDULENT BIDDER Selling my awesome 1993 VW Collectors Series Cabriolet MK1. I have owned the car since 2007 and have completed many upgrades. If you are looking for a MK1 this is the best of the series before the body style change. Engine is very strong and always passes emissions. The previous owner was a US airways mechanic and I'm a rocket scientist so it was always looked after. The suspension was replaced with adjustable coil-overs from a Croatian racing team . I tastefully lowered it 1" to give it a better look and improve handling. It also has a Neuspeed shock tower mount brace to add to rigidity. The handling is better than my old 911! The top is a Hartzel Black canvass cloth top in perfect condition. The top was replaced by Auto Spa in Chandler AZ for $1300. It included correct "horse hair" liner. The car has lived most of it's live in the southwest and is completely rust free!!!. I have always garaged it so the top look like the day I put it on with no fading. Additional exterior parts include the front grill "eyebrow" and I have debadged the car. I have all of the correct badging which will be included with sale. Wheels are stock in good condition. Tires in fair condition but could use an upgrade. I have the original tonneau cover with the snaps in place for a great top down look. Interior is in descent condition for the age. The heated seats work ( so nice) the Drivers seat is in fair condition and could use refurbishment ( missing adjustment wheel) Passenger seat is better but could use leather replacement. Back seat in good non torn condition. The car was struck in the rear damaging the tailgate and bumper. I replaced them with OEM parts to factory spec ( no additional damage!!!) The rear tail light has crack. It has also has the front left fender replaced due to a careless lady in a parking lot. The car has had a complete respray and looks great from 5ft ( check out the pics). It could use a rub out to look perfect but I always get a lot of compliments on the appearance. Most gauges work properly (I get low pressure light at idle.. This reading is on almost every MK1) Water temp is intermittent. I have added several 12v ports for Ipod, xm, radar detector.... where the ashtray was ( can be switched back if needed) Stereo is Sony cd with Ipod aux cable. Rear speakers are upgraded and the system sound great. The good--- Fresh Emissions- Done 1/19/2015- It really shows just how good this engine is!! See Pic Amazing suspension. I had an professional appraisal done in 2013 for over 6000.00 in current condition. Super fun safe and reliable 33 MPG average !!!!!!! IN Albuquerque today you could fill the car and get over 330 miles for $18.00 .We are at 1.66/ gallon WooHoo!!! Engine in great condition- no oil burn- pulls very strong. Great clutch and transmission ( no syncro issues) New Battery. Newer paint. I'll include lots of extra parts/ repair books original owners manual and accessories at no additional charge The Bad- Front Seats need work Carpet could use a cleaning. Center vent not opening completely and will need adjustment or a new vacuum hose. AC works but could use a fresh charge Alternator is making a little noise ( no charging issues) at idle so I will include a new 90 amp alternator with the sale.
