Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my Chevy pickup rat rod project. This is a 1941 Chevrolet pickup cab that was found in the woods mounted to a complete 1953 Chevrolet Bel-air car chassis with an old Ford bed and a super rare Oliver tractor grill. This is a super cool down and dirty rat rod that drew a lot of attention when I took it out. At car shows folks would walk right past the nice shiny cars to get a look at this beast. I had this vehicle registered, insured, running, and driving several years ago and took it to a few shows. It was last registered in 2009. Was registered as a 1953 Chevrolet Truck because it still has the VIN plate from the 1953 Bel-air chassis It has been sitting under a shed for the last few years untouched and the engine has locked up from sitting. I tried to free the engine by putting tranny fluid in the cylinders and turning the crank but the harmonic balancer key sheared off so that will need replaced. The wheels and tires on it now are crap, only good for rolling it around the yard. I relocated the radiator to the bed area so I could mount the grill further back toward the engine and get a better look. I never had any cooling issues driving it this way. The steering is nice and tight. It will need engine and brake work before it can be drive-able again. It has a rebuilt starter and a new distributor. Windshield is Lexan. Vehicle is sold with a bill of sale and an expired Georgia registration. No title. Georgia does not issue titles for vehicles this old. Keep in mind this is a project. It is a rat rod so there is rust and holes which you can see in the pictures. Parts of the cab are held together by rivets. On a vehicle like this it just adds to the charm. Low reserve.
