Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is one mean 1969 Camaro. First and foremost, this car was produced in the 3rd week of November 1968. For those of you who love Camaros and put tons of stock into what x code it has on the trim tag to determine value, options, or to determine an SS or Z28 car.....Let me shed a small amount of light on that. The famous x codes so many people speak of (x-11, x-22, x-33, x-77 etc etc) did not exist until mid to late December 1968. I have owned several 69 Camaros to include ss/rs matching numbers cars with and without x codes all the way to 6 cylinder versions. Through the ownership of my Camaros and countless hours of research I have learned a great deal on the codes, packages, and options these cars came with. One interesting piece of information I learned when I purchased a true matching numbers ss/rs 69 Camaro built in the first week of December of 68. Until I found, researched, and bought that car I believed what I think many (not all) Camaro enthusiasts do...and that is to be an ss or z28 it must have the correct x code. This is not correct at all. Production of the 69 Camaro began in November 68 and ran until November of 69 (typically the end of production was july but the 69 Camaro ran 4 extra months due to die issues for the 1970 body style). No Camaro produced prior to mid December of 68 had an x code period. This is an example of a pre x code early production 1969 Camaro being built in the 3rd week of the month that production of this car started! I gave that little bit of information to avoid endless emails asking what x code my car has. Now on to the goodies... Again, here for your consideration is a very nice 1969 Camaro. This car spent most of its life in the south, and even was held in a private auto museum for some time. It is a unique pro street style build that retains the back seat!!! Most of the big tire cars you see have no place in the back for children or friends to sit. The car is powered by a very healthy 498ci big block producing 600+ ground pounding horsepower backed by a tci turbo 400 street fighter automatic trans. The car does have an automatic valve body which allows you to place the car in drive and cruise (it will up and down shift for you), or you can run through the gears yourself shifting. The motor runs a solid lifter cam with .680 lift, has 10 to 1 compression ( yea pump gas!!!), a ford 9 inch rear end with 410 gear and 31 spline strange axels. This car is very streetable for local cruise nights, trips to town, taking the family to dairy queen....but when you feel the urge....it can easily become a monster. The interior is super clean and features all new gauges, a nice chrome roll bar (doesn't obstruct entry to the car), and gorgeous houndstooth seats that are extremely comfortable. There are disc brakes up front and drum in the rear, brand new expensive coil over shocks, an added electric fan, as well as a trans cooler. The vinyl top is in excellent condition and looks great against the red paint. The exterior is clearly red, and features very tasteful color shifting flames. The flames start as a pin stripe on the front fender and follow the body line across the fender, door, and into the rear quarter where it turns into a nice subtle flame. It is noticeable from some angles and lighting conditions better than others and has qualities very similar to ghost flames in that nature. They look great!!! The same accent is painted on the hood as a chevy logo turning into a flame on each side of the cowl. The engine bay is extravagant and highly detailed. Its all chrome, stainless steel, and painted throughout including the wheel wells. The trunk is also very clean and painted in a gloss black and features dual amps, the battery, a "look but don't touch" plate, beautiful mirror polished aluminum cover for the under side of the trunk lid featuring the chevy logo, and a nitrous bottle as well. The car was built to show and drive, and since being in Michigan it has been in 9 shows and won 9 awards. Of the 9 awards 3 of them were 1st place. Others include best of show, best paint, best engine, and the most important and meaningful was a 2nd place finish at Detroits autorama (one of the premium hot rod shows in the nation) against 50-60 other high end cars in the street machine category. I have not experienced any mechanical or electrical issues with this car, and its a blast to own and enjoy. I will post 150+ photos detailing every angle of the car and will let the photos speak for themselves. All pictures were taken in December 2014 and are unedited. I apologize, here in Michigan the sun doesn't pop out much in the winter so while some of the photos have great sunshine, the majority have the sun hiding in the clouds. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY. Please do not waste my time or the time of other ebayers, this is a very nice car and I ask that you do not bid without the intent of completing the purchase. Have all finances in order prior to bidding, and permission from whomever you may need it from. Bidders with under 10 feedback are kindly asked to call me prior to bidding. Failure to do so may result in you being blocked from the auction. I have no problem assisting with shipping, but all shipping costs are the buyers responsibility. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. I reserve the right to end this listing at any time for any reason. The vehicle is listed for sale locally as well.
