I am the original owner of this very nice 1997 4 Runner. It has always been dealer maintained and routinely detailed by owner, retired engineer. Paint and body panels are 100% original, no accidents or paint work. Always a Colorado car, there are no rust issues. There are two small door dings, but you have to look hard for them. There is some minor road rash under each headlight and a little on the hood; a recent rock put a small chip in the passenger side headlight. This a black car, and it still looks exceptional. The engine compartment is clean, with zero evidence of rust or corrosion. I've maintained it with pride, and the 4 Runner's condition is testimony. The motor runs smoothly, quietly, and with good power; fuel economy running at Colorado's 75 mph speed limit is around 20 mpg. The manual transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. The transfer case shifts from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive (high) on the fly; it shifts as it should in all ranges, and a dash light indicates when engaged. All gauges operate as they should. It equipped with a locking differential, which I have never had to use, although I engage it periodically to ensure function. The interior is in very nice condition as well, no rips, tears, stains or discoloration to seats or carpet. The driver's seat bottom side bolster has very minor sagging. The sport seats in the 4 Runner are very comfortable, the ride is quiet and secure, an extremely stable vehicle on snowy roads. There is a small crack in the plastic near the rear hatch. The headliner is in excellent condition, and the dash looks like new. The Dunlop tires are near new, all glass is free of cracks and in excellent condition. The original shocks were replaced with Bilstein's. The timing belt was replaced at 90K miles. Of course the battery isn't original, it is a Sears Gold Die Hard. Everything else is original. The cd player holds a 3 disc cartridge, the stereo and speakers are factory original The air conditioning works great, as does the heater, all power windows operate smoothly, the power antennae works as it should, and the cruise control works properly. There is no shimmy from the suspension, nor transmitted through the steering wheel, it drives/rides very well. No strange sounds or rattles, and no leaks from the drivetrain. It has the factory tow package, roof racks, and running boards. It also has the factory gold package, there is some pitting on the letters/emblems, but you have to be close to see it. Washed frequently and waxed twice a year. As I indicated, a purchased the 4 Runner new from Boulder Toyota in Boulder, Colorado. Boulder Toyota found the vehicle for me at another dealership in Colorado, so it was transferred from Durango to Boulder to me. I have the original window sticker and sales brochure, which will transfer with sale. I have dealer receipts for all maintenance, down to each oil change. The reason for sale is my age is taking its toll on driving a manual transmission, there is nothing wrong with the car, fly in drive it home. I have a new set of Toyota carpeted floor mats that will also go with the car. The successful bidder must make a non refundable deposit of $500 into my PayPal account within 24 hours of end of auction. The remaining funds must be wire transferred from your bank to my bank account within 72 hours from close of auction, I'll provide routing numbers when buyer contacts me. There is no warranty of any kind, implied or actual, associated with this 4 Runner. 4 Runners of this vintage easily last 300,000 miles with proper maintenance and care. My 4 Runner is in exceptional condition for an 18 year old car; I would not hesitate to drive it any distance. It may accumulate more miles, as I do drive it on a daily basis, but no 240 mile trips to Denver. I know that it can be intimidating buying a vehicle sight unseen and from a private party, I recently purchased a motorhome online that was 2500 miles away.
