Vehicle Detail
PLEASE, only bid if you are cash-in-hand ready to pay... I'm ONLY selling my baby to rally cash for my business. Unfortunately, I must sell my Factory big-block 383 4-speed 3.91 sure grip '66 Satellite. This is a car I had hoped never to have to sell, but I recently opened an auto body & paint shop and it's cleaned me out of cash. This car is a very cool and eye-catching survivor, still wearing what appears to be its' original Dark Red Metallic paint, and matching red interior. While the paint is old, it still has a great shine and patina to it, as you can see in the pictures... the car looks GREAT exactly as is. She sits nice and low, with an aggressive hot-rod stance. Just a great-looking old-school hot rod that anyone would be proud to own. I have been asked about the VIN, and it is as follows: RP23G67261xxx The original 383 is long gone, but not to worry... she has a freshly-built '65 .060" over 413 wedge (426 cubic inch displacement!) under the hood that's pushing an easy 475-500HP. The engine was professionally rebuilt about ten years ago, but has seen fewer than 500 miles of use since; this was a small-town car in the middle of nowhere, with nowhere to drive but stoplight to stoplight... and she did that VERY well. The engine rebuild included factory high-performance forged steel crank and rods, 10.5:1 forged pistons, a full balance, a factory-style aluminum hi-rise with dual four-barrel carbs, Mopar Performance .509 "purple shaft" cam and kit, Indy-modified '67 915 casting closed-chamber high performance cylinder heads w/upsized 2.14" and 1.81" valves (even bigger than the legendary 426 Max Wedge), rev kit to match cam, headers, HP oiling system, HP timing set, HP breakerless ignition, and more. She still has her original heavy-duty Hemi 4-speed with factory Inland shifter. The clutch was replaced at the same time the engine was rebuilt, with a new throwout bearing. The flywheel was surfaced as well. The car itself just turned over 100K miles. This is an old-school Mopar hotrod in the truest sense of the words. The car sounds GREAT with the nice cam lope and a dual exhaust system. This is rare car, and extremely straight to boot... look at the pictures going down the side panels. If I kept her, I'd ad the Hemi hood scoop and leave her badged as a 426 Hemi car just for fun. Some minor rust under the paint beginning to show at the rear wheel lips (pictured), but minor, and no holes... just paint blisters. Floors and trunk solid, as are rockers, etc. I took clear pictures showing the solid, straight, and dry rockers. Trunk, well, and extensions are dry as well... a really dry car overall with almost no rust issues that require attention; cosmetic only. The gray you see in the trunk is fresh SEM seam sealer I applied where the old had dried and failed. The trim and glass are very nice, interior original and complete (less new-in-box headliner) and usable as-is. I rebuilt the brakes, installed a brand-new fuel tank, lines, fuel pump, and sending unit. The dual Carter four-barrel carbs have just had a fresh rebuild, and the engine was just tuned, and runs very well; extremely powerful, a true hot rod. Power steering make it an easy ride, and the manual brakes not only work great, but allow the use of a big cam without intake vacuum issues. This car is a survivor. NOT a restored trailer queen, not perfect, but very good-looking, very straight, and damned fast. Factory four-speed and big-block make it a very rare car to begin with. The Magnum 500 wheels are originals that have been restored. The car wears ORIGINAL 426 Hemi fender emblems and 426 hood ornament, which the previous owner added in the early 70's from a junkyard 426 Hemi Satellite. People think it's a 426 Hemi car by the look and sound of it... fun! And, since the engine actually displaces 426 cubic inches, you just smile and rev the engine when they ask if it really has a 426 in it. This is NOT a car I ever planned to sell, but I need to rally cash so it's on the block. $10,000.00 cash, or first very close offer.. Clear title in hand. I need to be paid within three days of auction's end by a deposit into my Bank of America account, or bank wire transfer. The car is almost 50 years old, and therefore being sold as-is, without any warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. She's a solid car, and I've done my best to describe her as accurately as possible. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; the car is located at my shop in Gresham, Oregon 97030. You may call me directly at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have. I am also selling a '71 SS396/4-speed Chevelle and a '70 1/2 RS/SS 396 4-speed Camaro that are both close to being finished, and will be advertised soon. I will store the car for up to a month for free if that helps you. International or low-feedback bidders MUST contact me first; I don't want to wait two weeks for an international payment to happen.
