Vehicle Detail
HELLO! Are you on the hunt for your very own Shark? Well, here is your opportunity to nab one of these Bavarian jewels. Up for auction is a great running and driving 1989 BMW 635csi L6. (VIN: WBAEC8410K3268897) This car is quite rare: it is one out of the only 9,283 635csi’s sold in the U.S. The car has approximately 76,000 original miles. Both 205hp and 225-lbs.ft of torque, make this thing is an absolute treat to drive. Everything works! The title is green, tags are new, and this car is ready for a new home. I’ll begin with a brief history on this vehicle, as described to me by the original owner, and then I will share with you what has been done to the car since I’ve owned it. (Approximately 2 years) A Timeline of This E24 1989-2012 In 1989, this car was bought off of the showroom floor for $53,000. Since day 1, this car was absolutely babied. The car has always been garage kept; which, especially considering the heat of Oklahoma summers, has substantially helped preserve the interior of this car. The original owner informed me that occasional maintenance was performed at BMW. So this car has been WELL KEPT and never driven hard! Around mid-2008, the original owner suffered a severe back injury. Unfortunately, his injuries left him no longer able to drive. It is for this reason that the car was stored from July 2008 until I purchased it 2012. 2012- Present Day I purchased the car in 2012 from, non-other than, the original owners. The car had not been driven in quite some time so, naturally, it needed revitalization. It is far too often that people butcher these classics in hopes of making beauties. My main two goals with this BMW were as follows: the preservation of originality and attention to details. I feel that both goals were not only met, but exceeded. All work done to this car, all parts put into this car have been nothing but of the finest quality. Cosmetically This car is beautiful, inside and out, but it is not a $50,000 show-car wound to perfection. This is, however, as close to perfection as I could bring it. The car has been professionally repainted. I insisted it be done correctly and taken down to bare metal. There might be a small chip or scrape here or there but nothing major. I anticipate this paintjob will last many, many years. This car has NO RUST! The interior of the vehicle is also in good condition. There are a few small hairline cracks, approximately 2 inches in length, on the dash-top. This is common with an E24 but luckily the cracks are in not-so noticeable locations. Also, there is a small separation (approximately 3 inches in length) in the driver’s seat seam. I have been told that it is an easy-stitch fix with an Auto Upholstery shop. The car sits on 16 inch BMW, Style 5, chrome wheels and does have BRAND NEW TIRES. As the pictures show, this car is by no means perfection. But it truly is beautiful, both inside and out. Mechanically The car runs and drives well. The engine pulls very strong. and the transmission shifts perfectly. The R12 Air Conditioner is fully charged and blows cold in both the front and back. Luckily, this car still has the rare WORKING SELF-LEVELING SUSPENSION. The rear of the car raises and lowers with ease. All too often due to cost, these systems are removed when the hydraulic pump breaks. So having one with a working Self-Leveling System is an absolute treat. To the best of my knowledge, it does not burn or leak any fluids. One common issue with these vehicles is a slightly inaccurate fuel-level gauge. Subsequently, when this cars fuel gauge reads 1/8th of a tank, the tank is near empty. Nonetheless, as long as you make sure to fill up regularly, you should never have an issue with running out of gas. Self-leveling Accumulators New Pioneer Speakers Too much to list! With all the work that has gone into this car, I feel it is truly ready to have someone put her to good use. I am selling this car AS-IS with NO WARRANTY implied or stated. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
