This is a 1940 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup project truck with some 1946 parts. Everything is original and steel, no reproductions. This is a very solid project truck and has been disassembled. It is 95% complete and 98% rust free. The only rust is a small bit in the bottom front panel of the box and a small amount in the head panel above the windshield in the cab that is not into the exterior sheet metal. There is a replacement panel included if you choose to repair Everything else is either rust free or has been repaired. The only major body parts it is missing are the tailgate, bed to running board aprons and lower grill. The frame is complete except the steering sector. The cab forward is from a 1940 chevy and has the correct ID plates. The frame, box, running boards and extra cab parts are from a 1946 chevy 1/2 ton and include clear title and proper id tags. The cab is in very good condition and one of the better I have found. The only rust as mentioned is in the header panel and is covered by the interior panel. The beltline, cowls, back panel, cab corners, rear window, sheet metal above front window and floor are all rust free. There is a dent in the roof but it is an easy fix. All interior pieces including the speedo, windshield crank (that works!), door hardware, handles, extra exterior door handles, trim moldings seat etc. are here. The header panel cover has been restored and is and ready for paint. The rear window frame is there and not broken. Rear and side glass is there but bad. No front glass. The doors had rust at the bottom but new lower door skins have been installed. The welds need ground down and the doors finished. They are original to this cab and fit as they should. It comes with two sets of inner door panels, both sets are in great shape and are rust free. The windshield frame is restored and ready for paint. Also comes with an extra cowl, vent, A-pillar and front roof section from the 46 cab. The front grill surround is rust free and straight. The lower 'chin' and apron have been restored and are ready for paint. The headlights have been restored. Chrome retainers are original and in good shape. The upper grill has some surface rust but no dents or cracks. The hard to find hood retainer is there and in great shape. The hood is the best I have seen for an untouched original. Straight and not a ding in it. The sides are good. Inner fenders have been straightened and repaired and are ready for paint. The running boards are in excellent shape. All body work is done and they are as straight as you will find. A small amount of filler was used to smooth up some pits, but it is not thick and is over solid metal. 2 sets of front fenders, all rust free. One set is from a 1/2 ton. They have some cracks and will need some repair but are about as good as you find these days. The other set is from a 1 ton and are about 1" bigger at the wheel. They are in very good shape and don't need much work. 1 set of rear fenders that have had a lot of work done, but need some more. The both sides have been extensively patched. The pass side is ready for finish work. The drive side need a little more work before it is ready to go. The box sides are rust free. New corner strips have been welded in. Stake pockets are good. New side tubes have been welded on so they are perfectly straight. Will need some finishing and minor dolly work prior to final finish. Rear cross member is good. Front panel is OK. It needs a small area repaired on the bottom under where the wood sits but is usable as is. Has new set of wood bed mounting blocks included, still in packaging. Frame is original and unmolested. There is no rust through, cracks or welds. Its ready for whatever you want to do with it. Also includes all original suspension parts, front axle and rearend if you want to use them. They are not installed. Also included is a rearend and driveshaft from a 2001 S10 ZR-2. It has 3.73 gears, posi and disc brakes. It was pulled in 2004 and has 36,000 miles on it. It measures out well width wise for this truck. I have built several of these trucks, know where the problems are with them and can say this is a solid project that includes title and paperwork. I have described this as well as possible, but may have missed something. This is currently stored inside a heated building and can stay there for a few weeks as long as it is paid for. Pickup and shipping arrangements are the responsibility of buyer. If not picked up in a 2-3 weeks we will need to move it to other covered storage, but not heated. It all needs to be picked up in 8 weeks. If you don't want all of it, such as original suspension parts, etc. they can be left if you want. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
