Vehicle Detail

1955 First Series short bed Chevy Pickup. This truck was put together with some nice 60's parts. It has a 69 Nova clip, 66 Olds 10 bolt positraction rear end, turbo 400 automatic transmission, 66 Olds Cutlass steering column and a 69 CEB code 350 Chevy Engine. The CEB code is a replacement engine code that was used for 350's and even 302 Z28 motors. The engine is a performance build with a cam, mid sixties Corvette double hump heads with roller rockers, Holley aluminum intake, Edelbrock carb, and headers to a nice sounding dual exhaust. The engine runs great, the transmission is smooth and it handles great too with the low stance and new tires and wheels. A tight ride, not full of noises and rattles. It cruises at highway speeds with no problem. The truck went thru my friend Jeff's shop. Jeff is a master mechanic with over 30 years experience. He installed a new Edelbrock carb including electric choke, new polished aluminum 20 gallon fuel cell, new rocket racing 18 inch wheels, new Nitto 235x40x18 front tires and new Nitto 255x45 x 18 rear tires. He also rebuilt the rear suspension with all new pins and bushings in the springs, new shocks and new lowering blocks with hardened steel pins. The headlights, tail lights and turn signals were rewired along with the starting circuit. The steering column was rebuilt with new bearings, double D connections, U joints and neutral safety switch. Jeff installed the new master cylinder, brake lines, proportioning valve, distributor, plugs and plug wires. The doors got new glass, strikers, latches and inside handles. There is an Ahoogah horn with a button on the dash and electric wipers with new blades. There is a dash mounted tach. The lighter works too or use for GPS or phone charger. The speedometer was replaced because the needle was broken off the old one. The new speedo now reads about 50,000 miles. The replacement speedo reads very accurate according to the GPS. The tonneau cover is new and keeps the fuel cell dry along with some privacy for storage. There are added gauges and a gas gage for the fuel cell. The stance on this truck is just right. The new wheels and tires really set it off. This combination along with the Nova clip make for a nice ride and great handling. The wheels and tire combo are a hard $1900. The door needs a key, the e-brake and cables are all there but we did not get this working, but it should work. The glove box has a hole in the back. The drivers wing window needs a new latch. The paint has fabulous character from the southern sun fading. The build was pretty good as there is not much rust showing after many years The bed is oak and stained pewter to match the interior The windshield has a small leak on each side. I will include a new windshield seal but my best solution was to garage it and not drive it in the rain to preserve the great patina The seat is in good shape with a couple very small snags in the vinyl It has a spare tire, lug wrench and a new jack. I did drive this truck on pretty much a daily basis as long as the weather was good. It is in the garage for the season now as the salt and cold weather have arrived here. I picked between the 55 Chevy and the 56 Buick that is also for sale on ebay and never drove a regular car unless it was raining. On Fridays, both cars went to car shows and generated quite a lot of attention. There was always a lot of picture taking, good conversation and I never won for being shiny. And then there is always the 1 car car show when you use these for errands. Thumbs up all day long. I am trying to give this truck a detailed description as I don't like surprises when it comes to e bay cars. I have had several surprises over the years, but you have an honest description. On Dec-13-14 at 05:50:55 PST, seller added the following information: And if someone wants a real bargain, I will swap the wheels and tires from my 66 Chevelle which are Chevy Rally wheels, complete with center caps and trim rings, 15 x 7 front and 15 x 8 rear on nice tires, then set the buy it now to $10500 On Dec-13-14 at 09:14:01 PST, seller added the following information: Check out my 56 Buick Super also for sale on e bay.
