Vehicle Detail
Up for sales is my 1998 Honda Shadow model VLX 600. This bike is meticulously maintained and cared for. It has many customized components including:- Lowered rear suspension (1.75 inches lower than stock)- Custom handlebars with integrated risers- Rebuilt front forks with new seals (2014) - springs are more rigid than the stock ones - much better ride- Custom hand stitched Leather seat from Roberti Customs in Texas- Vance & Hines exhaust with removable baffles I have the fluids changed regularly, oil is changed at the beginning and end of the season. Bike gets minimal use but I like my stuff to be ready to ride at a moments notice. The battery holds a charge perfectly. It's about 2 years old but always on the tender. The clutch was just replaced this summer. There is a slightly larger front sprocket to get better hiway mileage. It isn't a big difference but makes the motor work a little less at hiway speeds. Tires have less than 500 miles and 12 months of riding on them. The stock rear tire is 170mm wide, but i upped it to 180mm.Bike also has a custom front side headlamps installed (in pictures). Also replaced the front fork seals in August. I replaced the fork seals about 3 years ago, at that time, the springs were replaced with heavier springs. If you have ever ridden a vlx 600, the front forks are very soft. With the heavier front springs, the bike handles much better. I fabricated the handlebars you see on the bike. I also have very nice polished billet aluminum risers that the new owner can have . They are 3 inch cylindrical risers with the concealed top that screws over it so you can't see the allen bolt heads. this bike is perfect, i have 4 other street bikes. I recently added a muscle car and there is just no room in my garage. Something has to give. I am the second owner and have owned this bike since 2001. It is super clean and extremely well taken care of.
