This is a different, green 1948. This is a neat old cab over chevy truck. Very nice body, with as minimal amount of rust as you'll ever find on an original 1947-1954 chevy pickup/truck. It really is nearly rust free with the exception of one small spot of pinhole rust. These COE's make nice rod projects, and 1947-1954 chevy/gmc models are one of the most popular for restoration. There are a lot of creative ways people have restored these trucks. They put flatbeds, ramp bodies, rollbacks, campers, and pickup boxes on them. Regular 8-9' stepside boxes from the era look great. I've seen custom crew cabs built out of them and suburbans/panels too. I have a picture link with many more pics of this truck I can send including undercarriage photos. I can email a link with more pics, just ask. MECHANICAL This truck has what looks like and is most likely the original 235 six cylinder. I have never tried to run it. I was told it should run with the usual fresh fuel, and tinkering. It has sat awhile. Battery cables, plug wires, etc. look new enough to where I don't think it's sat too long. I have not even tried to turn it over yet. Clutch and transmission work. It steers. I haven't tried the brakes. I planned on getting it running but have not had time. I can check and make sure the engine isn't seized if it matters to you. Tires hold air. BODY The body on the coe is exceptional, especially for a chevy with this bodystyle. They always have rust in the same places, 99.99% of the time. The only rust in this truck is very minor pinhole rust in the cab corners. One small spot in each corner. I mean small. you won't need new corners, just minor patches. A bodyman could patch these very easily with sheetmetal. The floors, frame, hood, fenders, steps, etc. etc. are nice on this truck. No large dents. Doors and hood close as they should. Glass is all good except passenger door glass. Windshields are nice. INTERIOR Original with exception of original bench seat. I can help you get an original style bench if that's what you need. I know a guy who has lots of them and probably pretty cheap. Gauges are all in it. OVERALL A nice chevy coe to start with for your project. These COE trucks get tons of attention at the car shows.1947-1954 seem to be the most popular and there are many online to see how they are fixed up.
