Click the image above in the upper left of the screen to view "SUPERSIZE" images. Description: 2 Owner. Current owner purchased in 2001 at 80,000 miles. Currently just over 150,000 miles. This Explorer has the lower maintenance push-rod V-6. Runs and drives out well. Automatic transmission shifts well. Interior is decent for it's age, with 1 small rip in the driver seat. Exterior paint is decent on the sides and back. There is fading and clearcoat peel on the top and hood. There is some rust on the right rear wheel arch, the rockers & other misc areas. Factory aluminum wheels with good tires. Cold A/C Heat, radio, power windows & locks all work. There is a Sirius radio MOUNT (no radio) under the dash & an antenna on the roof. Passed it's last safety and emission inspection. Maintenance History: Regular oil, lube, & filter services. 2013: Front shocks (141,409), front brake pads and rotors, repack front bearings, starter motor (143,900), a/c charge (143,836). 2012: 4 Tires, wheel alignment, battery (137,047). 2011: Flush cooling system, flush brake fluid (133,115) 2009: Upgraded intake manifold gasket set (Due to a intake manifold gasket coolant leak), head, exhaust, and timing gaskets, head bolts. (The head gaskets were fine and only replaced as a matter of course due to the extensive labor of replacing the intake gaskets). Radiator, fan and fan clutch, water pump, accessory belt, belt idler pulley, spark plugs, thermostat, coolant temp sensor, upper/lower radiator hoses. Ignition lock cylinder and switch. (There are a few images of the repairs above for you mechanical types) (127,000) 2008: Radius arm bushings and hardware, urethane strut arm bushings, rear shocks, front wheel bearings, spark plug wires (118,500). 2007: Front brake calipers (113,109). Rear brake drums, shoes & wheel cylinders (114,820). 2006: Front brake hoses (114,071). 2005: Wiper motor. 2004: Driver door hinges. 2002: A car ran into the driver side rear rocker area (in front of the rear wheel well) of this vehicle while it was parked in the owners driveway. The damage was cosmetic and was repaired by a professional body shop. Video: Problem areas: Transmission fluid leak (adding about 1 qt a month, probably pan gasket or a seal, not sure). Passenger door hinges and latch worn out (door is latched shut and no longer used). Lock on hatch glass is broken. There is some mildew on the headliner by the rear hatch. There are some extra fasteners on the driver door panel to reinforce where it attaches to the door pull. Metal frame on rt side back glass is loose and held on with tape. Rear wiper doesn't work. Rust on passenger front shock tower area (cleaned up & treated with rust encapsulator) Summary: This is a well used vehicle pushing 22 years old. However, it is a good driver that has had plenty of maintenance and repairs made over the years. With a little bit of work, it could be made fully functional. Or just use as is.
