Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford Mustang Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for sale is my freshly restored 66’ Mustang coupe. This is a two owner car and it has been in my family since new. True matching numbers car with original powertrain and correct factory colors. Very rare Tahoe-Turquoise metallic paint code car that looks absolutely stunning in the sunlight. This pony was built in San Jose, California and it still has the original set of black/gold license plates. Everything has been gone through in the last year including engine & transmission rebuild, new paint, and interior. The car looks and drives like the day it rolled off the assembly line. It’s very reliable and would make an excellent fuel efficient daily driver. I average out about 20mpg which is pretty good for a classic. The car can be driven anywhere so don’t be afraid to fly here and drive her home. Clean CA title in hand under my name and with current registration. I had the original 200ci engine and C-4 automatic transmission rebuilt just last year and they have less than 2k miles put on them since the rebuild. Engine runs perfect and transmission shifts smooth into all 3 gears. These early Ford inline 6 engines are extremely reliable and were built to run forever with light maintenance. The engine bay was restored as well and I added some chrome parts for a nicer look (original air cleaner and valve cover included with the car). I also upgraded the radiator with a performance aluminum unit. The car’s interior is very clean and looks picture perfect. I replaced pretty much everything over the summer including; carpet, seat foams and new upholstery, headliner, sun visors, dash pad, glove box, stereo speaker, steering wheel & horn (extremely hard to find in this color), door panels, chrome door and window cranks, seat belts, window regulators, rear view and side view mirrors, gauge cluster, and misc interior trim. I painted the dashboard, doors, and rear panels with factory correct shade of satin aqua enamel. Front and rear windshields were removed to paint car and install headliner & vinyl roof correctly. The car has ICE-COLD air conditioning and this is not an aftermarket A/C kit you can buy on eBay for $1000. This is an original 1966 restored A/C kit with an upgraded compressor that Cal-Mustang.com sells for $2900. I wanted the car to look like it came equipped with factory AC so I opted for the best money could buy. I also got an original center console for that added interior touch. Everything works on this car from the original AM radio to the windshield washer fluid motor. All the electrical was gone through and works just as it should. The gauges all read correctly and I also upgraded the lights with green LED bulbs for better visibility at night. The car was painted in February this year with a nice two-stage paint job in its correct factory color. It has all original rust-free body panels and it’s never been in an accident. Everything lines up great and there’s perfect ¼” spacing between hood, trunk, doors, and fenders. Rear quarters have never been cut or repaired (very common for Mustangs of this era) and none of the body panels have ever been replaced. This is a true virgin body, rust-free, single family owned California Mustang. Car was always stored indoors and it’s never left the state. Original glass all around in good shape and all 4 windows roll up and down great. The car has new weather-stripping throughout including both windshield seals and all the window felts. It has rebuilt brakes and suspension, the car feels great on the road and there are no squeaks or rattles. It handles well and feels safe at any speed. Steering feels nice and tight with no play like many classics have. Tires are brand new and have less than 100 miles on them. Original 14” wheels with new styled steel wheel covers. All exterior chrome is new including bumpers, guards, parking & backup lights, GT fog lights & horse ornament, door handles, tail lights, rocker panel moldings, emblems, and everything in between. The car turns heads and gets tons of compliments every time I drive it. I’ve spent well over $10k in the past year on parts and labor bringing my pony to its current state and it’s killing me to put her up for sale. Only reason I have it up for auction is because I just bought a 65 convertible project car that I would like to restore and keep for a weekend cruiser instead of the coupe (the wife says I can only keep one). This car is a great investment you can also enjoy and will make the next owner a very happy one. The Mustang is available for inspection by any serious buyer during this auction, feel free to call and set up an appointment (714) 351-9372. This is a No Reserve listing and it well go to the highest bidder no matter what. Thanks for viewing!
