Vehicle Detail

1965 FORD MUSTANG Coupe This is an unspoiled example of the original first year of production of the Ford Mustang--- also known as a "1964 1/2" as it retains many basic Ford Falcon components; was produced on the Falcon platform in 1964 and marketed by the renowned Lee Iacocca of Ford Motor Company. ---sold in 1965 to a long time owner in Connecticut, and stored in recent years with minimal mileage added. I purchased it in Conn. and drove it to Massachusetts for use as second vehicle, now losing my garage and must reduce the collection.---This car has recent brake replacement, radiator replaced, starter & solenoid replaced; voltage regulator replaced; generator replaced; trans output seal replaced; headlamps replaced; gas tank replaced.---Front bucket seats reupholstered in original red vinyl and new foam backs and seats...look and function very well.---Original engine runs well, smooth and quiet automatic transmission delivers ample power and speed for this car, single barrel carburetor give great MPG ---red interior and red upholstery give the car a distinctly classic 1965 appearance. The car is basic in design and features, mostly original condition, and runs and drives well for a 50 year old car. It has been kept in a garage for last 50 years and survived. The exterior still shines and car gets attention from everyone ...few of these early Mustangs have survived. --The body is unusually solid with minimal rusted areas; the bottom corner of driver side fender has decayed (see photo) ...I have a new Fender in black primer that will go with the car if buyer wants it; the dash has a crack in vinyl due to age/ shrinkage, interior paint on upper doors appears worn from age; headliner clean and tight, new speakers in rear package shelf and dash center; amp in trunk rear wall. Tires are old school bias ply (13" tires on this year Mustang) and front 2 tires are worn down. ("Sears" has low cost radials in this size available) Original hubcaps. "Gas guard" chrome piece added later.NOTE: there is some rust evident in the rear passenger wheel well (see photo) as well as a few surface bubbles...under carriage has solid floors and sub frame members, rockers, unibody all solid, front end totally solid shock towers and supports; surface rust on bumper areas; all glass intact and windows all operable; interior carpet and upholstery looks intact and functional (new bucket seat foam & vinyl ) trunk and spare tire covers in place; trunk compartment has surface rust under mat, not deep / no holes. engine air cleaner and manifold cover have been re sprayed original Ford color; engine is original Ford blue. The exhaust has outer surface rust, system functional. Slight weep of water at water pump evident but no drip on driveway..very slight leak typical. Car is 50 yrs old, selling "As Is / As Described" This is a very pleasant to drive, runs smoothly. has ample power, gets good mileage, and is favored by the many admirers of this classic Ford Mustang who spot the car. (Sale includes (new) primer coated Front driver side fender for future use if desired. MA Title will be supplied. ) Bid Now to own this classic American Mustang, a rare condition survivor car.
