Vehicle Detail

This is a beautiful, low mileage late model E30 convertible that spent almost its entire life in Florida. I purchased it about two years ago while living in Florida, and brought it to Pennsylvania one year ago. Since then, it has been garage kept the entire time. I have literally only driven it twice since its been up north! I can no longer afford to keep a car that gets used so little, and I feel that such a wonderful car should be properly enjoyed by someone with more time to drive it than I. Since I've owned the car I've had the following new parts installed: Convertible top All seats reupholstered in black vinyl H&R springs and Bilstein sport shocks Battery Engine coolant pipe and various hoses Flushed w/ fresh BMW coolant All vacuum hoses under intake Coolant sensor Bosch oxygen sensor Spark plugs Oil pan gaskets AC charged 2 years ago and still blowing cold Changed wheels to BBS "Basketweaves" with 4 new tires The body does have a few flaws. One dent on passenger front fender, and several small dings on fenders, doors, trunk lid. There is a small patch of rust at the bottom corner of drivers door, under battery on the tray, and a very tiny bit on the top edge of the trunklid. The whole car could also use a good polishing. The engine runs flawlessly. It starts everytime, idles perfectly, never throws check engine lights, and makes good power. This little M42 engine is surprisingly peppy and is in my opinion the perfect motor for just cruising along in an E30 convertible. It is virtually maintenance free and very economical. The one thing that should always be replaced on these motors is the plastic coolant pipe that goes into the block and can break with age, overheating the engine. I did this preventively this past summer, along with new spark plugs and an oxygen sensor in preparation for our state emissions test. The transmission is easily the most pleasant and effortless 5-speed manual I have ever driven. Many other people have said the same thing about the transmission in this model. It shifts perfectly and buttery smooth. The clutch is also very light and forgiving. Would be great for a first time learner, or just someone who wants a relaxing driving experience. The H&R springs and Bilstein sport shocks really transformed the ride quality of the car, and I feel it was money very well spent. It lowered the car a few inches and gave it a much firmer feel. I do not feel it to be harsh at all. It also gives the car a much sportier look! The brakes have good pad life left. I'm not sure what brand they are since they were on the car when I got it, but they stop the car very well. The tires were purchased brand new before I brought the car up from FL. They only have 1,200 miles on them. The wheels are in great shape with no bends or major damage. There is some pitting on two of them from someone leaving brake dust on them too long. All the mechanisms for operating the top work perfectly, including the shocks that hold the lid up. The top has never seen water, and has only been put down a handful of times since being installed 2 years ago. The front and back seats were reupholstered in black vinyl. I chose vinyl thinking that if I ever left the top down in the rain, the seats would not get ruined as easily as if they were leather. They were very well done and I'm pleased with the job. When the front seats were put back in, they forgot to put some of the plastic covering pieces on. I never pulled the seats back out to re install them, but it would be an easy fix. The dash is almost crack free, there are two tiny cracks in the coin try that aren't visible from inside the car. There is one small ding in the coin tray that is visible, but hardly noticeable. The only negatives with the car are minor. The aftermarket radio doesn't work. I can include a factory radio if the buyer would like. It does have very good aftermarket speakers. The factory clock doesn't work. The windshield is scratched from sand getting under the wiper blades. The engine does drip about two drops of oil after being parked. I thought it was the oil pan gaskets and replaced them. But it seems like its coming from the front profile gasket. I would have liked to do this as well but for as little as I drove the car it wasn't a pressing issue. In the effort to be completely honest, its worth mentioning. Please note that I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country at a moments notice. It has been 100% reliable since the day I got it and has had these little issues since then. This is a wonderful car and I will be sad to see it go, as will the rest of my family. I do have a few other classic BMW's that I will never part with. As for this one, I've put a lot of time and money into it and I hope it goes to a good home. If you have any questions or would like to see more pictures, please feel free to call me at 267 - 374 - 2305 Thanks for looking and happy motoring! Buyer is responsible for all transportation arrangements. I require a non-refundable deposit within 24 hours and full payment and pickup within 1 week of auction end. Note: It has been very overcast here lately and using my smartphone to take photos resulted in the paint looking dark, almost silver. I can assure you it is 100% Alpine White and looks very good.
