2008 Smart Fortwo Pure 2 door RWD coupe. I ordered this car for myself in 2007 as soon as Smart USA opened pre-orders. It is a base model Pure with a radio as the only option. It does have the automatic transmission that can be shifted as a manual too. No clutch pedal. The good stuff..... The popular yellow is in near perfect condition. All metal areas are clean and rust free. No dings or dents. Interior is very clean...no tears or burns. Car was NEVER smoked in. Car is pretty much unaltered from how it was delivered. New battery. New plugs at 100K Car was maintained per the book. In fact we changed the Mobil1 oil more often than required with Bosch filters. Cars has a good K&N air filter installed too. Tires have about half wear left in them. The bad stuff A few months ago we got a check engine light and rough running. Because we live 5 hours from any Smart center we just called our dealer for help. That's when we bought a new battery....per Smart that could cause a ECU issue. That didn't help....so they suggested replacing the coil pack on cylinder #1 were we were getting the check engine code. Coil pack replaced and no improvement. Only solution was tow it 5 hours to dealer. No local mechanic could find and issue other than the OBD code. That's when I decided that a car without a dealer nearby does not work in a very rural area. We did take it out yesterday and got it up to 80 mph....runs great at speed.....but slow you can feel the miss. The other issue was the flexible hose between the exhaust and muffler has rusted making it louder than a normal Smart but a 3 cylinder is not too noisy anyway. Good deal for someone with the access to MB/Smart diagnosis equipment. Right front fender was replaced when a deer hit us....split the fender and it was replaced by a dealer with a OEM yellow fender. The rest..... At end of auction $200 deposit is due via Paypal. Deposit is NOT REFUNDABLE for any reason. I can hold the car until pick-up....amount of time can be negotiated. Remainder of payment at time of pick-up. Car has a clear and open title no liens. Payment on pick up is cash unless prior arrangements are made before auction ends. We are in rural West Virgina between White Sulfur Springs and Snowshoe Ski resort on highway US 219. Car is for sale locally and we may end auction at any time if it sells. Car is sold AS IS, WHERE IT IS.....no warranty made or implied in any way. We have loved this little car....and had more fun than any of our other cars. Still draws attention today. A fun safe little car perfect for someone that can decode the MB electronics. Hate to see her go.......but no one to care for it....gotta go.
