This is a beautiful example of a classic ride. I have owned this car for about 4 years. I had always wanted a 450 SL and decided when I "made it" in life that I would buy one for myself. It has been really nice owning and driving this car but I've bought a new model and it's time to sell this one. The paint on this car is really good - very shiny and no cracking. The navy blue canvas top is virtually brand new and the car also has the original factory hard top. The car runs and drives great. The interior of the car shows a little wear from being original and 35 years old. Given it's age, it's in remarkably good condition. Quite honestly, I have tossed around in my mind selling her for the last year and am now to the point I can let her go. This car is a real head-turner. Everywhere I drive it, people have to come over and say how pretty it is. I can be driving it and people will honk their horns and give me the thumbs up. You just don't see classic beauty like this every day. (Just typing this, I am questioning my decision to sell.....). The car has only 72,500 original miles. I bought the car from an elderly lady who kept the car at her home in Florida to drive when she was there from New Jersey. This car has been babied. I keep it garaged and it doesn't see bad weather. If you know anything about these cars, 1978 and 1979 are the best vintage. This car is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction if the car sells before the end of the auction.
