Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a three owner Unmolested Mostly Original 1969 Mustang Mach 1 Q Code 428CJ 4 Speed 3.50:1 geared Traction-Lok Differential. The 2nd owner who I purchased the car from owned it for over 40 years. This Mach 1 was ordered by Bob Gillingham Ford on April 8th 1969 for their inventory. Gillingham Ford still sells todays muscle cars and also sells old school muscle. The original build date was to be April 22nd 1969 but was delayed until April 28th 1969 and released for shipment on April 29th 1969. Built with only a few options as shown on the attached Marti report. On April 30th 1969 just prior to the car arriving to the dealership it was sold to Mr. L.T. Bentley of 3232 West 46th St. Cleveland Ohio 44102. He took delivery soon there after. During his ownership most likely when new it was sent to a company called Ziebart Rustproofing to be rust proofed. Many cars in the day were sent for rustproofing as it was a quick buck markup for the dealership. And it helped save many cars from the rust monster. The Ziebart sticker is still on the rear window glass as applied in 1969. Also added during his ownership was an 8 track radio tape player under the passengers side dash below glove box. The original AM/FM Stereo Ford Radio still works. Nothing has been cut up. Sometime during Mr. Bentleys ownership the right front fender was touched up. This is evident is evident as a blend line can be seen on the top of the fender. Not much is know about Mr. Bentleys ownership but Sometime in 1974 Mr. Bentley put the car up for sale. Mr. Bentley can't be located as of now and house has been torn down, It was purchased by a gentleman named Richard. I have his last name and it will only be given to the new buyer. He still lives in a Cleveland suburb. Richard drove the car sparely during the fist few years as a summer Toy as he called it. During his 40 year ownership he put on about 5000 miles. He recalls the car having a little over 48k miles on it when he purchased it. As seen in the pictures the smog equipment was removed by one of Richards friends in the 80's as was the air cleaner and a chrome one was added. I have the original air cleaner but all the smog equipment is gone. They also added the MSD ignition box and hi energy coil along with a set of MSD plug wires and distributor cap. I have the original cap and plug wires but the coil is long gone. The car does have a few scratch's and dings from 40 years of being around kids that were growing up. Richard told me he had the door bottom's touched years ago due to the kids scratching them. All the factory stripes are still in place. The motor, transmission and rear end have never been out of the car so it's numbers matching. Richard stated even the clutch is original. Richard called it a gentleman's racer. And with the F70x14 whit sidewall tires on it one would hardly think of it as a race car. LOL But it's a torque monster. All the sheet metal is original to the car. It does have the original rim blow steering wheel and the horns work perfectly. Options shown on the Marti report are as follows. Traction-lok Differential, Visibility Group, F70x14 Wide Oval Belted White Sidewall Tires, Power Front Disc Brakes, Power Steering, AM/FM Stereo Radio, Intermittent Windshield Wipers. It is a Q code car 428-4V Cobra Jet Non-Ram Air Engine, Four-Speed Close Ratio Manual Transmission with 3.50:1 Traction-Lok Rear Axel. It still retains the original exhaust system tail pipes and all, although it does have a small leak. Haven't narrowed it down yet. The interior is all original right down to the seats and factory molded in floor mats. No cracks in the dash either. It doesn't have the fold down rear seat. Wheels are original to the car and the spare is in the trunk with the original jack Both have been used sometime in their past though. Trunk still retains the original matt with the corner trunk cardboard covers over the quarter corners. The car does show some rusty scale on the underside from being kept in an unheated garage for 40 years. The originally applied Ziebart rustproofing is still there on the back window but is flacking in areas. No visible rust thru anywhere though. Just your typical scale. I'm no expert on what they call these types of cars but having loved muscle cars for years I'd call it a True Survivor. The rest of the story is I was out looking at a 66 Mustang Convertible for my wife and stumbled across this car by accident. Richard lived a few doors down from the Mustang owner and since it was Halloween he was walking with his grandson door to door. He walked up while I was discussing the Mustang and since he was a neighbor of the 66 owner he introduced himself. While talking he said he had a few old cars he was thinking of selling. As I love all old cars I said "What do you have Friend" I was floored when he said I have a 69 Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet" He told me he had it over 40 years. Well that was it I had to see this car. I passed on the 66 and off we went to see the 69. A few of the pictures listed are of it in his dark garage tucked into the corner. If it doesn't bring what I want I will have it detailed and get the dent guy to remove a few dings and keep her in the same condition as I found her for my grand kids to worry about. So if your looking for what I would say is one of the most original 1969 Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jets in the country this is your next car. Then I can move on to the Mustang Convertible I was shopping for. I'm open minded to ideas though. I can send more pictures as you'd like. SOLD AS-IS where is. No warranties implied. Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. I can assist finding a shipper if needed. I reserve the right to sell locally and cancel all bids regardless of reason. If you don't have at least 25 eBay purchases call me before you bid or I will cancel your bids. I'm sure there's more I forgot so forgive me and ask questions. If you win you own this rare GEM. I guess I'd call it a Garage/Barn find of the year. Call Mark at 216-402-8877 Remember The car is as I found it still. Dust dents, scratches and all. It is 1 of 1485 Built with this Motor/Transmission packages according to the Marti Report. All Funds Must Clear My Bank Before The Car Leaves My Garage. So remember CASH is King for immediate delivery.
