Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE You are bidding on an amazing, one-owner, 59K original mile, unrestored survivor 1978 F-150 Ranger XLT "Trailer Special" pickup equipped with the factory high-output 460 cubic inch four-barrel engine. The truck has been used only sparingly over the years for recreational purposes only... the miles are ORIGINAL and the odometer HAS NOT rolled over! It is in amazing condition, and is sure to please its' next lucky owner. This particular truck features its’ original J-code high-output 460 4v engine option backed by a heavy-duty C6 automatic transmission. It came loaded with both power steering and power brakes, and when I say this truck runs and drives like a brand-new vehicle, I am not exaggerating... it is perfect! The Ranger trim package includes extra fancy exterior trim, a full gauge compliment, wood grained accents, and deluxe exterior side moldings. This is a very rare half-ton Trailer Special package; I have only seen a handful. They had the big engine, rear gearing for acceleration and pulling, and heavy-duty spring package on a light sport truck platform. It's basically a factory hot-rod pickup, and a kick in the pants to drive. The body is laser straight and the factory original K-code Bright Red paint still shines like new... it is beautiful. It’s been garaged its’ entire life, and it shows. The bed also still retains original paint, and is in very good condition, too. There are only a couple of areas where the paint has chipped and there is minor surface rust; almost nonexistent. No rust-through or cancer at all, anywhere. The glass is all original and in very good shape, with one minor chip in the windshield that’s almost unnoticeable. The Ranger trim is as nice as I've seen on any Ford; just about perfect. The original steel wheels with factory hubcaps wear brand-new radial Light Truck tires; the ride is solid and smooth. The brake system was completely rebuilt a few years ago, and works perfectly. The truck is in mechanically perfect condition, needing nothing. The power steering is smooth and the truck tracks straight down the road without any wander or pull. As you can see from the pictures, the interior is exceptional. The gauges are clear and bright, everything works, the dash pad has no cracks, headliner is nice, original rubber floor mat in great condition. There is one minor crack on the seat and on the floor mat, driver’s side, otherwise the interior is just about like new. It has two fuel tanks, both in working order. The undercarriage as well as the engine bay are both clean and nice. I doubt you will find a nicer unrestored survivor in perfect mechanical condition anywhere near this price. This truck still has its’ original spare tire that’s apparently never been down on the ground. The only modifications to the truck are the addition of a trailer brake controller, pin striping adjacent to the factory side trim, and a K&N high-flow air cleaner in place of the original. Otherwise the truck retains "born with" parts throughout. It is an amazing time capsule of a truck and turns heads wherever it goes. You may call me at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have. Clear title in hand. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I will make myself available for loading. While every effort is being made to describe the truck accurately, it is in fact a 35-year-old classic, and therefore being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. Please be prepared to remit payment in full within three days of auction's end via bank wire transfer, deposit into my B of A business account, or mail me a major bank cashier's check, which must clear the issuing bank prior to shipping.
