This 1972 Lincoln Continental Mark IV convertible came from an estate. It is truly a "custom Continental" and is incredibly beautiful. The car constantly gets thumbs up and when I park it people want to know more about it. It's a shame the factory did not make a convertible in this model but, thanks to the former owner-- he had this one converted for his personal pleasure and what a great job was done to make it structurally sound and trouble free. The car drives like a dream. It starts immediately and is ready to go from the moment the engine turns over. For a car it's size it has tremendous power (almost muscle car-like) and handles exceptionally well. In fact, if the driver is not careful he or she will find themselves accidentally speeding due to the extremely smooth ride of the car. The structural bracing under the car has made it feel everybit as solid as a hardtop (I should know since I have owned 3 Mark IVs). It is difficult to believe the mileage since the cars starts immediately, idles quietly and has incredible power and handles so well. In addition to structurally bracing the car underneath (ie. thick steel rails are welded and run from the front tires to the back ones), a custom roof, made of fiberglass was made and it bolts on in all four corners. The window and seat controls were wisely moved to a center console, under the ash tray, and are protected from rain so that no electrical fire, due to rain, is possible. The exterior door handles are missing (door actuators are located behind each side of the rear bumper) to provide a clean, classic look. Please feel free to ask any and all questions. Bid with confidence because I would not hesitate to drive any where in this Continental. I will add that there is a toneau cover (which is red) but, also without it on.... the car has a smoother more beautiful look.
