1991 BMW 850Ci This 1991 BMW 850Ci has been the pride and joy of a local BMW CCA member who has owned this car for the last 10 years. During that time he has used it as a weekend driver and always kept the maintenance up to date. He has recently retired from the USAF and has decided to pass this classic V12 touring machine along to another enthusiast. Exterior It is hard to find well preserved examples of these vehicles, and this one is a crowd favorite, it even won Best of Show at a BMW Club event last spring. The paint has held up well for 23 years old, but is not without a little fading particularly on the rear bumper cover. There are no dents, but a few door dings and small scratches as expected (see pics). Interior The original leather interior looks and feels great, with no splitting, only a light patina on the bolsters. The upgraded wood fascia warms the interior and the aftermarket stereo sounds great. A set of cup holders are a welcome addition to the center console. All instrumentation is fully functional with the exception of the SRS and the OBC display pixilation, a common issue on these models. The dash is in amazing condition. Though the glove box door has the traditional sag, it functions perfectly. Mechanical The owner has kept meticulous service records over the past decade of ownership. Service Highlights include: Head Lights rebuilt by BMW Dealer (2004). Brake Booster O-Ring (2005) New Pads & Rotors with upgraded Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines (2006) Air Conditioning Service (2007) Spark Plugs, Distributor Caps & Rotors, with multiple Filters (2008) Valve Cover Gaskets, Fuel Lines, Injector O-Rings, Updated Banjo Bolts (this is a must have service for these engines!) new PCV Valves, and new Intake Gaskets (2009) New Catalytic Converters (2010). In 2011 the Suspension was updated with all new Upper and Lower Front Control Arms, Tie Rod Ends, Rear Upper and Lower Trailing Arm Bushings, and Performance Bilstein Front Struts and Bilstein Performance Rear Shocks. Earlier this year over $4k was spent on a remanufactured 4HP-24 Transmission. It runs cool in the heat of the NV desert with a new Water Pump, Radiator, Hoses, and Thermostat. The BMW alloys look stunning after a recent powder coating and are wrapped in a set of Yokohama YK520’s. There is a slight vibration at freeway speed, so a tire balance may be due. Come To Vegas!
