Vehicle Detail
This auction has very low reserve. This was an extremely time consuming and expensive car to build. I have up for sale a 1996 Honda Civic e/k hatch world time attack SCCA spec race car. Runs and drives amazing. Very fast. Extremely quick through the corners and holds its own in the straights. This car has been featured in several magazines including modified magazine and canibeat as well as quite a few others. Please read article below for full build description. This car is amazing. Nobody who rides in it believes its a civic. Very well built from the ground up. Every nut and bolt has been replaced/upgraded. The h22a is a factory sealed jdm unit with 50k miles. It's a strong motor in a very light car so we haven't lost reliability by modding it. It's still a honda. Starts right up, runs great and good fuel economy if you keep your foot out of it. But that's not what this is about. This is about throwing you back in your carbon race seat. Shift through 1, through 2, hit the apex of that sweeping right hander just right and on the throttle into third. Pull 3rd to 125 mph and into 4th. Your at 140 now at the end of the straight and it's hard on the wilwood brakes to turn 3 and back down to 2nd. You getting the picture here, this car was built to be driven. And it was built in the order of 1. Handling2. Stopping3. Speed It's amazing how fast the car will go when it's set up to handle it right and stop. I have never actually topped out this car. It does 125mph in 3rd gear, fastest I have taken it is 159 and it was still pulling, I was just out of track. The faster you go, the better the car handles. Active aero does work. In theory still street legal depending on where you live. It has lights and turn signals but no cat so if you have emissions it would need one of those. Please feel free to give me a call with any questions -435-671-0310 car is very solid and well maintained and will continue to require maintenance and tuning to make it even better. Here is what the car is: Started as 1996 honda civic Dx hatch. Sep 6, 2011Photography By: Michael RussoWords By: Andy CarterAgainst All Odds: Brian Bullock’s Time Attack CivicThere are few relationships as strange as the one between a true car guy and his car. At some basic level, a car is nothing more than an assemblage of metal and plastic parts, designed and fabricated through engineering expertise. Rationally considered, an automobile possesses no more character than a washing machine or a refrigerator. Important to life? Absolutely; but certainly not an entity capable of stimulating deep human emotion. But that’s not how we see our cars, and that’s certainly not how Brian Bullock sees his time attack Civic. You see, Brian has been through some rough times here recently. Not the kind of troubles that the average Joe is used to either; we aren’t talking about broke wheels or loose women here. Brian has been hit over and over and over by the kind of tragedies that make one forget about suspension settings, fitment, racing, and cars in general. The average man would have undoubtedly abandoned the project, setting aside piles of metal and plastic until the storm blew over. But Brain isn’t average; he isn’t anywhere close. Despite his challenges – and perhaps because of them – Brian Bullock put together the amazing time attack Civic you see here during the scariest time of his life. This story is bigger than wheel selection, color, or stance; in fact, the car plays only a supporting role in a story that is filled with heroes. Our “car guy culture” may be founded on our cars, but the true raison d’être can be found in Brian’s garage, a place filled all at once with sorrow, defeat, persistence, and finally, rejoicing.Brian recounts, “Right after purchasing the car I lost my Grandma, who, the week before she passed, told me I had a gift for building cars and to pursue what I love. That was the last thing I ever heard from her. Not long after that I was diagnosed with RSD, which is recirculatory system dystrophy, which basically means my right arm is dying. This put a serious hamper on what I can do when it comes to turning wrenches, honestly I am not even supposed to hold a job. Luckily I had the support of my wife Tina and the team (Team Function Motorsports). About eight months later I lost one of my best friends, we all called him Goose. At that point I decided to dedicate the build to him and my grandma. I continued to build the car and had plans to go racing last year untill my wife was diagnosed with POTS which is a very rare form of tacacardia. So all my money for racing went to cover her medical expenses. After that the decision was made to transform the car to what it is now and show that adversity can always be conquered.”Truthfully, this car shouldn’t exist. Between facing a debilitating disease, caring for his wife, and losing both a good friend and loving family member, nobody would have faulted Brian for leaving the game. After all, what value does a race car provide a person in a situation like this? It isn’t medicine or therapy in any traditional sense, and at worse, it’s a sink for time and money. But somehow, I think we all understand. I don’t believe that this Civic is so much of an escape for Brian from his struggles, but rather a manifestation of a broken man’s passion for life. This time attack Civic is for Brian’s grandmother, his wife, his best friend, and perhaps most importantly, himself. Brain, against all odds, took a pile of lifeless steel and created his magnum opus, a testament to that irrational drive that lives only in the heart of a true car guy.Brian Bullocks’s 1996 Honda CivicEngineGloss grey paint,JDM 11:1 H22A motor,Euro R Accord transmissionXTD six puck clutch and ten pound flywheel,Password:JDM carbon fiber intake with velocity stackbutterfly trickSS fuel lineDC sports race header w/VHT high temp black with custom piping to a Top1 titanium downturn mufflerInnovative 75A motor mountsOEM A/C delete plug, Fuse box delete plug, engine harness delete plugRefinished OEM boltsRace wire relocationSpoon resevior coversEngine tuned on Crome with a 4300 RPM two stepKoyo radiator with slim line pusher fanH22 fuel pumpHKS oil catch canJeggs raidator overflow tankPassword:JDM fender washersCustom Gold valve cover with black plug cover Suspension/Wheels/BrakesSkunk2 coilovers with 12K front springs and 14K rear springsAll new OEM suspension boltsSkunk2 and CTR front strut barBlox LCA’sBlox full adjustable camber kit, front and rearASR subframe brace with 26mm rear sway bar with adjustable endlinksBlox extended lug studs and lug nutsWilwood 4 piston Dynalite calipers with two piece 12.19 rotors with street/track pads and SS linesrear disc conversion with Brembo rotors with Hawk HPS pads1in master cylinderGoodridge Stainless Steel rear brake lines17×8 Sprint Hart CP-035’s custom painted Gloss GreyFalken Azenis 615K front 215/40/17 and 615 215/40/17 rearInteriorFully gutted including sound deadening removedCustom Carbon Kevlar dashCustom fan/fuel/ignition/start/kill wiring and switchesMemoryFab S68 carbon/kevlar bucketCrow five point harnessCrow harness padsCrow window net w/ custom mount barsWink wide angle rally mirrorWeld-Rite Sponsored SCCA cage with steering rack mounta and b pillars gussets, roof gussetscustom welded in strut tower barBoss steering wheelTeam Function shifter extender,Next Gear Inc weighted shift knobWeapon-R short shift adaptergutted doorsremoved door glassremoved sun roof and bracingdoor cutouts linned with 3M c-channel trimCustom hidden fuel door releaseCustom interior wiring harness with mesh wiring wrapCustom Carbon Kevlar dashCustom fan/fuel/ignition/start/kill wiring and switchessatin black fuel pump cover, refinished bolts tucked rear cabin harnessgloss grey paintExterior3M Vivid Blue vinyl wrap96-98 front and rear bumperC-West side skirts vinyl color matchedtrim black TC Sportline front liptrim black CTR rear lipvinyl color matched side moldingsAPR front splitter with Top1 splitter bracketsTop1 double stack canardsVinyl wrapped J’s Racing hood w/ 4 corner hood pinsStreet Fab carbon fiber roofCTR style tinted headlightsSpoon carbon fiber wingOEM antenna deleteOEM rear wiper deleteSpoon mirrorspulled and rolled front fendersrolled rear fenderscustom carbon kevlar door handle blockoffsXentec 4300K HID conversion Search Brian Bullock time attack civic to see all magazines etc this car has been featured in.
