Vehicle Detail
Hello, and thank you for taking a look at this super clean California rust free classic LANDCRUISER!! I haven't seen one this nice, until the day I bought this one.. Ebay seems to be the place to find the clean ones.. For your consideration, is this uber clean 87 FJ 60! This one is in the classic Deseret tan color, with virtually no rust. Please read the entire ad, ask any questions.. before bidding, study the pics.. get wife approval (where applicable) come take a look, if possible.. then bid to own it! I will do my best to describe the vehicle to the best of my ability with description and pictures from a classic car enthusiast standpoint. Ask for any pictures you may want of any part of the vehicle. Body and Paint: Again, this Landcruiser lived most of its life in Southern California. The gentlemen I bought it from had moved to Southern Utah and brought it with him... So, like many cared for older CA vehicles, this one has held up nicely. There is no visible significant rust issues anywhere on the vehicle. Yes, there are several spots where the paint has chipped off and surface rust has started. It appears that it has been repainted at some point, although I can see no evidence of collision repair. No funky door jambs, cut lines, welds, etc.. I'm guessing the paint had faded and the loving owner repainted to freshen it up. The repaint looks like it was done very well, as it was tough to find any evidence of over spray.. I had to look awhile. The color appears to be the exact O.E color. Most people who look at this vehicle would guess its O.E paint. Looking down the body from the side, it is very straight with less than average door dings... Of coarse it is not without normal door dings, marks, old paint issues, etc. The paint still has luster, but is showing age. The most significant body damage, is a light crease on the rear lower panel on the passenger side.. I tried to show this in one of the pics. The panel fitment looks factory perfect to me.. All doors close perfect and body gaps look right. Bumpers are both in excellent shape as well. The top side (roof) is free of dents or abuse. All door jambs look great. Bottom of the doors where rust generally starts, are all clean.. And the original weather stripping is still in great shape.. still supple. Under carriage is crazy clean, as you would expect. Again, I see no visible rust issues.. A nice looking Cruiser that will turn heads and will make you proud to roll around in. Interior: Interior appears to be all original and in excellent shape.. Outside of the outer bolster on the drivers seat, the original fabric is holding up great. No sun-cooked areas. The door panels are very impressive, as is the headliner.. and the original carpets are in hard to believe condition.. Under those mats, the carpet shows little wear. The dash, gauges, center console, all look amazingly nice. There is one small flaw in the dash (sun damage), I think it is visible in one pic. Its in the common spot. Windows all roll up and down well, door function perfect.. Original stereo is still present and works just fine. Glass is all good.. great visibility in these rigs! Mechanical Condition: This old Cruiser is extremely impressive from behind the wheel.. It runs, steers, stops, rides, sounds, excellent. Fires right up, hot or cold. It does have a 3" Old Man Emu" lift, but it still rides very nice.. and definitely gives it the proper tough look without going to far. Does not appear to have been lifted to be used as a "wheeling machine", just for looks most likely.. It does look good with those 33" BFG AT's!! Tires are in great shape, but are starting to show some dry rot. By no means would I replace them. Dot shows 2011 for manufacture date. Motor sounds great and will go thru the rpm range with no hesitation. The manual transmission shifts and downshifts in all gears perfectly. Clutch engages/disengages perfectly. All electrics seem to work with the exception of the front dome light.. likely a bulb, haven't checked it. At some point, someone installed exhaust headers and 2.5 or 3" exhaust.. I'm not sure if some smog equipment is missing or if it will pass Smog in your town/state. The only mechanical defect I've noticed is that it does not seem to come up to operating temperature quickly. I suspected the gauge was not accurate, but when I put my laser thermometer on the thermostat cover, I get 160 and the temp gauge needle is still quite low in the range of the gauge.. Perhaps the thermostat is stuck open or someone removed it. I'm not concerned with it.. If it were the opposite and it was running hot.. well, that would be something to concern me. Summary: An amazing find.. This cruiser has not been molested, has been extremely well taken care of and preserved, this should be obvious when viewing the pictures. A great find.. and it will be a great deal for someone. I need to sell this as I just learned I will need another surgery soon.. So, im not holding out for the giant dollar I see people asking for on this site. The reserve is very fair.. priced to sell, so serious buyers, bid on... and BID TO WIN!!
