Vehicle Detail
I'm relisting this item because it has failed to sell several times and on one instance the transaction did not go through. As a result of the latter, let me make a few clarifications: 1. The final sale price on eBay is the FINAL COST OF THE CAR. I will NOT front any cash or credit for any payments liable by the buyer to the DMV of California if you live in that state and want to re-plate the car with the original 66 tags. That's your responsibility, not mine. Apparently California DMV requires back payment for all the years the plates were inactive if you want to use those tags on the car. 2. Once the sale is complete, you have 3 days to pay the required deposit or I will file an unpaid item case. End of story. Do not bid if you don't have the full amount you bid. I'm running a tight ship this time to get away from time wasters and scammers. The remainder of the payment will be made before I send the title or the vehicle anywhere. That's how this works; you buy an item, you pay for it, and you get it. You don't pay, you don't get it. You don't pay within 7 days, I keep your deposit and you don't get it. It's simple folks. That being said, if you have any questions with regard to the condition of the car, I'm happy to help. I've tried to be as transparent as possible in the item condition and description boxes, so please read them in their entirety before contacting me. This is NOT a show car, and I realize that. That's why I'm selling for only $7,000 instead of the $13,500 I have in it myself. I paid to much, and I get it. But for $7,000 you're getting an incredibly nice, rare example of an all-original Tornado, with no rust, that runs excellent. UPDATE ON THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK: I found the cause of the leak; it's a bad o - ring on what is called the "case connector" in the service manual. Very easily fixed if you take the transmission oil pan off to get to it, and that's simple enough (just remove a few bolts). I have a kit to fix it, but don't have the time. The kit will go with the car. I've also added another picture to this listing so you can see the excellent condition of the underside of the car. This is the cleanest, straightest 1966 Toronado on ebay; an amazing survivor! Even the transistor radio still works!! I haven't seen one like this for sale in a long time. It's the perfect steal for someone who wants an awesome collectible, all-original car and doesn't want to feel bad about driving it around whenever they want. I have an all-original rust-free 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado I would like to sell. This is a California car with the original 1966 California plates (front and rear). The plates go for over $250 each on ebay. The front right bumper end was scraped on something by a previous owner. Interior is in good condition with the exception of a tear in the drivers side seat and a very small amount of cracked trim on the drivers side (pictured). The shifter knob is missing; unfortunately I don't have it. It came that way when I bought it last spring. This car is in amazing condition for its age, considering it has never been restored other than having been re-painted one time in the original color. I believe the previous owner also had the drum brake system refreshed. The power seats and power windows all work fine. I replaced the power window motor on the driver's side a couple weeks ago as it was getting weak. I've also had the starter rebuilt and replaced the weatherstripping on both doors and around the trunk. The a/c does not work but probably would with a recharge. I have the original owner's manual, as well as a full service manual. This is a front wheel drive car (the first made in America since the '37 Cord), and has a 425 cubic inch engine that produces in excess of 380 horsepower. The title is clear. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I will front no cost in getting this vehicle to you. I also have this item for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time prior to its close. Thanks for looking! Please message me with any questions. Happy bidding!
