Vehicle Detail
Fun, Unique, and Reliable. The Willys Jeepster always brings a smile to those in it and those who see it. We bought this 4 years ago from a good friend who has had it for 25 years. Always runs and drives. Has only been driven locally to shows and in parades. They are no Cadillac, but they are utilitarian and rugged. This one is a decent driver. It does need a little going through to make it 100% road ready. It has had recent brake work, exhaust, and a recent clutch and flywheel. I bought this for my father but he does not fit in it anymore(He is 70 and 6'6"). He ended up buying an amazing Cadillac so he is happy. The body is in real good shape, the paint is of lesser quality but looks very nice from a few feet away. Not show quality by any means. The undercarriage is decent but has had the floors replaced with sheet metal in most of the areas. The inside rocker sills had some rot from 30 years ago but it has not gone anywhere since it has been garaged and pleasure driven since. The frame and fender wells are in great shape. The motor was replaced many years ago with the newer style inline 4 cylinder from a 1951 which I think they called the F head. Motor is fantastic, doesn't smoke and is quiet. It has never not started right up. Even with the 6 volt system still intact. The 3 speed transmission is also in great shape. I do think the linkage needs adjusting because sometimes people who never drive a column shifter find it hard to get into 2nd gear. I have no problem with it, but I am used to it. It has been that way since the flywheel and clutch were done. The carb is probably due up for a cleaning and rebuild, sometimes stalls on idle. The last item is the exhaust gasket in the downpipe needs replacing, it has a small leak. The interior has had some changes and improvements. First notable item is that the front seats are out of another vehicle. They are attached in a primitive way but they do fold forward to allow occupants into the back seat. I do have the original 60/40 seats for the front but they will need to be redone. The vinyl door panels have been replaced with wood. I think they look so much better and really adds to the vintage look. The carpet is a replacement from many years ago and has a few stains on it. The roof and side curtains are in in decent shape. The roof has a few stains back near the rear window that could use a scrubbing. The steering wheel could use a repaint as a lot of the ivory color has worn off. Gauges seem to work but an additional oil pressure gauge was added to be sure. The Jeepster is located at my shop in Orange,CT. I highly recommend that any interested bidders come see the item in person before buying it. This is an auction site and the winning bidder is the new owner. I adhere to all of Ebays rules and regs. and will follow through with any dream bidders. Anyone without a favorable feedback rating and history will be deleted by the end of auction. Shipping companies have easy access to our complex, and I can be hired, if possible to get cars to ports for international buyers. Please contact me for any further questions.
