I have up for auction a 1968 Cadillac Coupe DeVille which was originally purchased new from Reynolds Motor Car Company in Orange, VA. The car currently has 127,774 original miles and is equipped with power steering, power brakes, climate control air conditioning, power windows, power seats, and AM/FM stereo radio. The coupe has its original 472 4V engine and automatic transmission. Since I have had the car I have rebuilt the top of the engine which includes the following: New Lifters, New Push Rods, New Rocker Arms, Valve Seals, Intake Manifold Gasket, and Valve Cover Gaskets. Also installed was a new timing chain set, gasket set, and front seals along with a new gear box, new power steering pump, new power steering hoses, new fuel pump, new smog pump, new distributor, new radiator hoses, new heater hoses, new thermostat, new distributor cap, new ignition wires, all new belts, and new water pump. The fuel system was flushed and cleaned as well as the radiator being removed, cleaned, and tested. The car has had new wheel brake cylinders, new brake shoes, and new master cylinder installed. A new air conditioning compressor has been installed and the system has been vacuumed tested for leaks, but has not been charged with R134a. When I purchased the car the windshield had a crack, therefore I had a new windshield installed. For its age the car is in pretty good shape with the original paint on the vehicle. There is some minor rust starting at the very lower front fenders on both sides (see pictures) which is minimal at best for this particular model year vehicle. The floors are solid as well as the trunk area. There is a small dent right below the lock cover on the trunk lid (see picture) as well as a small dent at the lower left rear fender behind the bumper point/brake light area (see picture). There are three small holes in the hood where the previous 89 year old owner had installed an inappropriate hood ornament that did not go with the vehicle (see picture). Also noted are some peeling of the chrome on the lower points of the front bumper points. Interior - The dash pad is in excellent condition, but there is some cracking on the front door panels and rear interior panels under the rear quarter windows. The seats are in relatively good condition, soft, pliable, and appear to be leather. The headliner is in good condition. The following items are currently not functioning on the Cadillac: the power seat control, AM/FM radio, the left rear quarter window, and the antenna has been broken off. As you can see in the pictures the wheel covers are not on the car, but are laying in the trunk of the vehicle with the molding that goes around the back glass. The moldings from the back glass are in the trunk because I think the old man had a water leak around the back glass because it has been sealed with putty (see picture). The vehicle is being sold without a reserve. The vehicle is currently being sold as-is and where-is with no warranty implied or expressed. Make sure to ask any and all questions prior to bidding on this vehicle. A deposit of $500.00 dollars will be required within 5 days from the close of auction. The buyer is responsible for shipping and transport. The high bidder can make additional arrangements with seller if both agree. Full payment is required within 10 days of auction's close.
