Vehicle Detail
I’m Steve and I’m selling my 1987 Chevy C30 Custom Deluxe Heavy Duty dump truck due to my retirement. This is a factory built 1-ton 4x4. All numbers match. I bought the truck from the original owner in 1991 at 29k miles. This truck has been in a preventive maintenance program since I purchased it. Regular, rigorous and ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs have been performed with attention to detail. This truck has never been wrecked nor has it ever had a snow plow on it. It has all the original glass. I am a non-smoker and never allowed anyone to smoke in this truck. This truck has always been adult-driven and never abused. I have all receipts and documentation for anything that’s been done to the truck. All original books and receipts transfer to new owner with truck. TRUCK IS TURN-KEY AND READY TO DRIVE. TRUCK SPECS: ENGINE: 5.7L (350) Y8 4BBL LT9 with a Rochester type M4MC/E4MC series Quadrajet carburetor. Engine tight and no leaks.Engine has factory installed dual exhaust, dual air pumps (2), air-tubed exhaust manifolds, heavy duty emission certification. Thermatic air-cleaner controls. No catalytic converters required. Manual transmission, 4-speed, heavy duty, clutch-operated engine starter switch, hydraulic system master and slave cylinders. (transmission front seal slobbering very little.) 4x4 TRANSFER CASE: Type 206, V30/35, Floor-mounted shifter, Build date 3/6/87, Build # 15521981 (transfer case output seal slobbering very little.) Truck has hydro-boost power brake system to all wheels. Power steering. AXLE: Front Danna 60F 456 gears, Spicer axles, Warner manual locking hubs. Bendix style caliper power disc brakes, Build date 4/30/86, Build # 1559139 AXLE: Back Danna 60CFO 51 456 gears, Spicer axles, limited slip locking differentials. Bendix type power drum brakes. Build date 4/30/86, Build # 1559139 Truck has heavy duty tow hitch integrated to frame rails and pintle hook-ball receiver. Electric trailer light hook-up (no brakes, wire is there). The truck was last painted in 2005. New front fenders, inner fenders and hood were added. The GM paint code 58751 is for models 1989-1992 (the color I chose). There are some small places where the paint is starting to bubble and there are some places on the driver’s door that were starting to surface rust which I sanded down and painted. The paint is not an exact match but I could not get that to show in the pictures. The door vent windows need adjusting after all new window channel and vent channel rubber were installed on both doors. The hood has a few very small dents in it from a board falling on it. New inner and outer rocker panels were installed on both sides of cab. A lower inner and outer back cab corner was installed on driver’s side of cab. The paint does not match 100% but it’s so close that I could not get it to show in the pictures. There are a few scrapes and dings, nothing serious, and the clear coat is starting to peel a little in a few places. The (Lund) front window cab sun visor clear coat is peeling and paint is fading. The frame shows typical wear but no rust-through. I have kept it blasted, primed and painted. In 2001 truck was converted from a utility body style truck to present day dump truck. There have only been 27k miles put on the truck since this conversion. The following maintenance and replacement parts have been done to this truck during and since the conversion: New clutch brute pack (flywheel, clutch disk, pressure plate and pilot bearing) installed New engine intake, exhaust, valve seals Drive line inspected All new Monroe shocks & steering stabilizer Entire suspension gone through, spring assist Timben Model Type 535 installed back axle Cab and frame repainted New doors, stainless steel West Coast mirrors and stainless steel grill New custom aluminum dump body and controls installed New custom 1/8” aluminum deck-plated upper dump sides made with inner and outer walls Custom 1/8” aluminum deck-plated back fenders with tail lights, turn signals Custom aluminum tool box mounted to passenger side frame Custom aluminum ladder and step installed on driver’s side of dump bed Chrome wheel simulators New polyurethane gas tank installed New chrome bumper and light poles New front brakes, rotors, wheel bearings replaced New back brakes, drums turned, new upper ball joints on front axle replaced New clutch master and slave cylinder replaced Complete tune-up, spark plugs, carburetor kit, air filter, gas filter Two new brake cylinders back axle and back axle seals All new 2 ¼” aluminum dual exhaust system, quiet mufflers and aluminum wire hangers Two new front tires: LT235/85 R16 10-ply @ 6,056 miles ago Four new back tires: LT235/85 R16 10-ply @ 3,172 miles ago Bench seat replaced with high-back style 20/80 seat with center console Sony AM/FM, CD, MP3 capable Pioneer Bass-Reflex 3-Way speaker system mounted in rear cab (2 speakers) JUST COMPLETED PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING: Rear axle springs blasted, primed and repainted.
