Vehicle Detail
Thanks for checking out my wonderful 1984 Honda XL600R. I love this bike but I am not fit enough to kick start this beast everywhere I go. Be sure that's for you before you make an offer because there is NO electric start. This bike runs very well. I have had it on the trails and on the highway. I am a large person but I have easily hit 80 on the highway. I have also gone on some light trails. Everything works, the blinkers, the horn, high/low beam, compression release and the choke. The carburetor is tuned for 5000ft, I live in a mountainous area. You will most likely have to lower the idle slightly for sea level. Cosmetically this bike is a 30 year old time capsule. The plastic is in great shape as are the wheels, only the gas tank has a small ding (pictured) and there are some scratches and small paint chips. Inside the tank looks like a new bike with no rust. When I bought it the mileage was around 1600. It still had the original tires. I have replaced them with brand new tires (about 400 miles on them now). I had the fork seals replaced, front disc bled and I had the carburetor cleaned and tuned. I replaced the handle bars with red anodized bars, added replacement mirrors and rear turn signals. Biggest cosmetic issue is the tail light, black lense holder (pictured) has a crack. The oil is fresh as is the spark plug. It is a great bike but does drive like a 30 year old machine. Once warmed up it idles perfectly. This bike is certainly for someone familiar with it, rather than the uninitiated. I have a clear NM title in my name. Please ask any questions and feel free to call also 8am-7pm MST. Larry 505-934-0969. I'm willing to take an offer but I know this bike is a great example of a fairly rare bike. There is a completed SOLD listing for the same bike in only slightly better condition and not running, selling for $3950.00. I will help any way I can with shipping but it is the buyers responsibility. I can offer reasonable shipping between ABQ and LA anywhere along the 40 or the 10 interstate. Thanks
