Vehicle Detail
1975 Dodge Tradesman "Cat Scratch Fever" This van has new brakes, water pump, belts hoses and it runs drives great. Needs tires. This van was originally a show van in the late 70's. it was parked for years. Has full shag interior, leather couch that folds into a bed, port windows, CB radio, original Crager SS wheels, cabinates and working fridge, Etched glass. All is period correct. I will post more pictures and history soon. Please call 574-358-1155. Must Sell - non paying bidders will be reported to EBAY - Thank You!On Oct-07-14 at 07:11:39 PDT, seller added the following information: This van is a true survivor from the glory days of Vanning! They story is that it was built and shown and spent most of its life around Detroit. As I understand it sat for almost 25 years until the guy I got it from found it. He then sold it to me. I focused on making it a driver, I did not change anything on it. I wanted it to stay as close to the way it was build as possible, so I cleaned and detailed as much as I could, and tried to make it a good driver. I did a couple of 300 plus mile trips over the summer, and drive it around weekly since getting it back on the road this past spring. The pictures speak for themselves. Its not perfect but it’s about the coolest van on the road that’s still like it was! The Van gets a lot of attention and the refrigerator was signed by Ted Nugent at some point but the Autograph was wiped off at some point. As part of the local morning show on the rock station here, we chased Ted around the Midwest this summer trying to get it resigned - but were unsuccessful! It was fun however and hopefully the next owner can continue the quest. If you do buy this van - be ready for people stopping you and wanting to check it out, get pictures with it - etc. People love this van!I try to be very honest about everything I sell on EBAY. I don’t want to have a bad transaction so, I am putting as much detail as I can into what I know about the van - good and bad. That being said, please understand this is a 40 year old van. It’s being sold as is with no warranty written or implied. Please call 574-358-1155 and ask any and all questions before you bid. With the detail on a trying to put in this listing, and being available to answer questions I do not want any after sale drama about this or that. New parts this spring:CarburetorFuel pumpAlternatorAll Belts and hosesBrake master cylinderFront Rotors, Pads, Lines CalipersBack Drums, Shoes Wheel Cylinders LinesNew Deep sump transmission pan, Fluid dumped and replacedNew Distributor cap & Rotor, plugs, Plug Wires.Engine is stock 2 barrel 318. Some of the emissions parts are not hooked up. Runs strong. Good:All the lights and gauges work. It drives good and stops well. No leaks. Has two batteries and the charging system charges both at the same time. All the doors and locks work great. Has all vintage van upgrades that are the real deal from back in the day. Windshield and side windows are etched glass - Shag carpet and fur roof. Not Working / Things I want people to know Tires are good they hold air but they are old. I drive on them but they really need to be replaced. The heater cable that diverts the hot coolant through the heater core is difficult to turn via the cable on the dash. It works but either it needs a new valve or maybe the cable. The exhaust exits straight out and ends mid Van as just two Glasspacks. It should be continued either to the side exit or the rear. It sounds great however. Its missing one of the dome lights. The two sunroofs don’t leak - The back one has been sealed with a black seam sealer - it looks bad if you get on a ladder and look at it - but its doing the job. You cant see it unless you get up on the roof and look.It has two batteries and the second one is the cabinet in the back - Its not a deep cell just a used regular battery. I would get a deep cell if you want things like the fridge to work for longer periods...I did not use it so to me it was not a big deal. Body: Very solid. Has no rust and the floors are really good. I was undercoated you can tell years ago. Has one dent in the rear quarter panel - see picts. The paint was obviously done in the 70’s and looks good it has some chips, and the front hood is faded. I have been working on color sanding and buffing it and its coming back. The roof is a little oxidized and faded - I never really got up there and polished it - cant really tell. There is chipped paint on two of the fender flares. The murals still look great - the tiger one has some really slight peeling that not really noticeable but I wanted to pint it out. So, last thing about condition. Its a 40 year old running driving survivor 70's show van. It needs to be worked on - things break or stop working on something this old....but that's part of the deal driving around a 40 year old van - just making sure the buyer understands that.... Please ask questions before you bid. Selling for cash only (no trades!!) with paypal deposit. Sold as is no warranty written or implied. Have clear title in my name. Will require purchaser to sign a bill of sale and no warranty statement. Call Cell for questions 574-358-1155. I expect pickup and full payment 10 days after auction closes. I do work with people that communicate however. I know I will get a lot of people emailing about the price. The reserve is set fair. I am not trying to get rich off the Van - I do know what its worth. I have been in contact with several Vanner magazines and the van is well known on social media in the vanning community. You can check it out on my instagram too @southsideK On Oct-07-14 at 08:06:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Mileage is 78,000 not 68,000 I mis-typed when I made this post. The dash has tape on it (two - way masking tape) where it had a cover I removed.
